Milwaukee Brewers

MLB Betting Preview: Expect a Tough Game for Brewers Against Dodgers on Saturday

They say that money makes the world go around, and I’m sure that many of you come to this site to try and get a little more in your pocket than you started out with. In professional sports, the belief has long been that spending the most will bring the most success, but that seldom seems to actually play out. The high-spending LA Dodgers are trying to change all that, and they will close out their first half by welcoming in the Milwaukee Brewers, who are paupers in comparison. The second game in their 3-game MLB betting series is set for Saturday night.

LA Dodgers vs Milwaukee Brewers Game Info

Date/Time: Saturday, July 11th, 9:10 PM Venue: Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, CA TV: FSWI Radio: WTMJ 620 Opening Line: TBA The Dodgers (49-38) have built up a 5.5 game lead atop the NL West, but they have not been entirely convincing of late. They have been playing .500 ball for the most part, and have been relying heavily on great pitching, especially from Zach Greinke, to get their wins. While most teams would love to have a lead of this size heading into the break, there is still the sense that the Dodgers are underachieving a little. That is what happens when you have the sort of payroll that they do. They are coming into this series on a little bit of a roll, having won their last two games without giving up a single run. They also managed to get some runs in those games, which is a sign that they might be ready to close out the first half in some considerable style. The Dodgers have not yet decided who will get the start for the Saturday game. The Brewers (37-50) have had a first half to forget, but they are closing out in a way that suggests the second half might be a whole lot better. They went on an 8-game winning streak before dropping back to back games against the Braves. Before those losses, the Brewers were tearing things up, averaging 7 runs per game during that winning streak. There were still some issues with the pitching, but you can afford to have a slip or two when your offense is firing on all cylinders. Many of the wins came against the lesser lights of the MLB, so it’s going to be interesting to see how the hitters fare against a very good pitching staff. Taylor Jungmann (3-1, 2.43 ERA) will get the start for the Brewers on Saturday.

As good as the Brewers have been recently, they are in for a much tougher go of it this weekend. I like the Dodgers to get the win here, and in the series.
