Harang to Bring Phillies an MLB Betting Victory against Rockies

Only one team can be the champion at the end of the season, and the fact of the matter is that there is only a handful of teams in each conference who have a genuine shot at getting to the top of the MLB betting heap. For the rest, it’s all about rebuilding and trying to create a team that might compete in the coming years. Two teams at the bottom of the pile, the Philadelphia Phillies and Colorado Rockies, will meet for a 3-game series, with the second game scheduled for Saturday afternoon in Philly.

Colorado Rockies vs. Philadelphia Phillies Game Info

Date/Time: Saturday, May 30th, 3:05 PM Location: Citizens Bank Park, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania TV: CSN Opening Line: TBA The Phillies (19-30) were expected to be the worst team in the NL East this season, so the fact that they are second bottom right now is something of a small victory. They did have a very positive stretch in the middle of May, winning 6 straight to add a touch of respectability to their overall record. The wheels came off a little after that run, as they followed it up with a 2-8 record, which includes the 4-game losing streak that they are currently stuck in. On the bright side, Ryan Howard has been knocking the cover off the ball of late, but he is not getting much in the way of help from his supporting cast. Aaron Harang (4-4, 1.93 ERA) will head to the mound for the Phillies on Saturday. Harang has been solid all year, and just hasn’t been given much in the way of run support.
You have to feel some level of sympathy for the Colorado Rockies (19-26), as they have had to battle through injuries to a number of key personnel. A big part of their problem this season, other than those injuries, is that they have seldom had the offense and defense clicking on the same day. That all came to a head when they went on an 11-game losing streak at the start of the month. They have recovered quite well from that, but have still only managed to play .500 ball since the streak came to an end. Their record in May has seen them land at the bottom of the NL West and 8 games out of first place. Jorge De La Rosa (1-2, 6.51 ERA) will get the ball for the Rockies on Saturday. After a slow start to the season, De La Rosa has been a little better in his last 2 starts. delarosa

If the Phillies can give Harang the run support that his efforts have deserved this season, there is no reason why Philadelphia can’t pull out the win in this one.
