Los Angeles Dodgers at Toronto Blue Jays MLB Lines Report

On Saturday afternoon, the Los Angeles Dodgers will be north of the border to take on the Toronto Blue Jays in the middle game in their weekend series. The Dodgers (14-14) lead a so far mediocre National League West and just fell to the Tampa Bay Rays, 8-5, on Wednesday. The Blue Jays (15-15) are in third in the American League East after taking three of four from Texas, including a 12-2 romp on Thursday. A Look at the Los Angeles Dodgers at Toronto Blue Jays MLB Lines Report & TV Info

When: Saturday, May 7, 2016, 1:07pm Eastern time Where: Rogers Centre, Toronto TV: RSN, SNLA RadioLos Angeles / Toronto Live Stream: MLB.tv MLB Odds: TBA Pitching Matchup: Clayton Kershaw (3-1, 1.96 ERA) (LA) vs R.A. Dickey (1-3, 5.73 ERA) (TOR)

Why Should You Bet on Los Angeles?

The pitching matchup tells me why to take the Dodgers in this one. Clayton Kershaw has been one of baseball’s dominant starting pitchers for several years now, and this season has been no different. He has struck out 54 batters in his five starts, and his last time out he picked up a complete game win against the Padres, notching 14 strikeouts. This is an interleague series, so the only Blue Jay who has seen Kershaw a lot is former Colorado shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, who is 12 for 36 off Kershaw in his career, including three home runs. The only other Blue Jays who have ever gotten even a single hit off Kershaw are Justin Smoak (1 for 3) and Darwin Barney (2 for 9).

Why Should You Put Your Money on the Blue Jays?

The Blue Jays picked up two walkoff wins from the Rangers before Thursday’s laugher, and those are the types of wins that give teams momentum. R.A. Dickey pitched well his last time out, permitting just a single run in 6 ⅓ innings. His knuckleball is faster than what most knuckleballers throw, and when his stuff is on, it is just about unhittable. Only three Dodgers (Chase Utley, .364; Howie Kendrick, .333; and A.J. Ellis, .333) have ever faced Dickey, and often a knuckleballer will have an advantage his first time against a batter because of the adjustment to the pitch.

Expert Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I’m predicting that Kershaw can outduel the crafty Dickey. I’m predicting a 3-1 Los Angeles victory.
