Why should you bet on Washington?

The Nationals send Max Scherzer to the mound. He does have a 20-strikeout game to his credit this year, but his season has been very uneven to this point. However, he has always pitched well against Philadelphia, going 5-1 with a 2.38 career ERA in eight starts. Scherzer came to the Nats before the 2015 season and since then has gone 4-0 with a 1.88 ERA against the Phillies. While the Phillies did run into a buzzsaw over the weekend, getting swept by the Cubs, Odubel Herrera and Peter Bourjos have been hitting well lately, as they both slammed homers in the Phillies’ win on Thursday night in Detroit.
