Chicago Cubs at Atlanta Braves
When: 12:10 PM ET Where: SunTrust Park TV: MLBN (out-of-market only) / CSN-C (Chicago) / FSSE (Atlanta) Stream: MLB.tv Radio: 670 The Score (Chicago) / 680 AM,93.7 FM (Atlanta) MLB Betting Odds: TBA Pitching Matchup: Mike Montgomery (1-6, 4.01 ERA) (CHI) vs R.A. Dickey (6-5, 4.08 ERA) (ATL) Mike Montgomery makes his second start after the All-Star break on Wednesday afternoon. His first start was a rough one, as he only lasted 4 ⅓ innings against the Baltimore Orioles, permitting four earned runs. That was a bit of an anomaly, though; despite that dreadful record, he has permitted no more than three runs on four of his last five outings. The Cubs have picked up the pace a little bit, winning six of their last 10 — but they’ve still slipped back another game in the standings behind the Brewers. R.A. Dickey struggled in the first part of the season, but that knuckleball greatness that brought him a Cy Young Award has returned, at least for now. In his last five starts, he has thrown a combined 33 innings, permitting just four earned runs and fanning 27 batters. He hasn’t had to rely on his subpar fastball to throw strikes, which is a big factor in the fact that no one has hit a home run off him during that stretch. Only three of the Cub regulars have ever faced him, which should give him an edge. I pick the Braves to take the series finale.Latest MLB Betting Trends

Texas Rangers at Baltimore Orioles
When: 7:05 PM ET Where: Camden Yards TV: FSSW (Texas) / MASN (Baltimore) Stream: MLB.tv Radio: 105.3 The Fan (Texas) / 105.7 The Fan (Baltimore) MLB Betting Odds: TBA Pitching Matchup: Martin Perez (5-6, 4.55 ERA) (TEX) vs Kevin Gausman (5-7, 6.39 ERA) (BAL) The Rangers have followed up a pair of wins to open the second half of the season with a pair of losses, as this 45-47 club just seems destined, at least for now, to piddle around the .500 mark the rest of the way. Perez, though, did pick up one of those two wins on Friday night, as Texas beat Kansas City, 5-3. He has pitched well lately, with a 3-0 record and a 4.34 ERA over his last five starts. However, his six road starts have produced a 1-2 record and a 4.09 ERA. Kevin Gausman baffled the Rangers in an April matchup, but his numbers since then have been unimpressive. In 20 starts, he has posted just five of a quality nature (six or more innings, no more than three earned runs permitted). He only lasted three innings in his last start against the Chicago Cubs, permitting seven hits and eight runs. I like Perez to continue his strong pitching and lead Texas to a win against the O’s.- Rangers are 4-2 ATS in the last 6 games on the road

L.A. Dodgers at Chicago White Sox
When: 8:10 PM ET Where: Guaranteed Rate Field TV: SportsNet LA (LA) / CSN-C(Chicago) Stream: MLB.tv Radio: 570 LA Sports (LA) / WLS 890 (Chicago) MLB Betting Odds: TBA Pitching Matchup: Kenta Maeda (7-4, 4.38 ERA) (LA) vs Carlos Rodon (1-2, 4.32 ERA) (CHI) Kenta Maeda has come on recently, winning three of his four most recent decisions. However, he doesn’t go late into games; he has only made it into the sixth inning three times in his 14 trips to the mound, and not at all since June 27. The Dodgers have had a white-hot June and July, surging past Arizona and Colorado to take a huge lead in the National League West. Their bats should find plenty to hit, as the White Sox send Carlos Rodon to the hill. He was on the disabled list for most of April, May and June thanks to bursitis in his left (throwing arm) bicep. In his last start, he permitted six runs in 5 ⅓ innings against Colorado. I don’t see him controlling a Dodgers offense that has simply been raking for the last six weeks.Latest MLB Betting Trends
