Don’t look now, but the Lakers may have figured out how to play basketball. Earlier this week, they made the Golden State Warriors look silly in taking just their sixth loss of the season, and then they showed that it was not a fluke by knocking off the Magic at home too. D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson represent one of the more talented young backcourts in the NBA right now, and if they can figure the game out on both ends of the floor, the Lakers will not be a lottery team anymore.Why Should You Put Your Money on Cleveland?
It’s hard to argue against the Central Division leaders, but right now the Cavs’ toughest opponent might be the people in the mirror. There is some dissent in the Cavs’ locker room, and while firing David Blatt might have appeased LeBron, interim coach Tyronn Lue does not seem to be the spark that the team needed. Given the way the Lakers are playing at home right now, and given the lack of attention the Cavs seem to be giving their opponents, I’d take a hard look at the Cavs-Kings game Wednesday night. If the Cavs struggle to win, I’d think twice before betting on them against the Lakers. If they dominate Sacramento, then I’d feel easier about picking the Cavs.
