It is pretty hard to believe it, but the NBA season is already halfway through and teams will be taking a short break to watch the top players in the league participate in the various NBA All-Star Weekend events.
Date: February 13 – 15th, 2015 8:30PM
Venue: Madison Square Garden
TV: TNT, coverage begins at 7 p.m. ET
The three-day All-Star Weekend will kick-off on Friday the 13th, featuring a myriad of enjoyable contests like slam dunk and three-point shooting events, as well as the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game. But all these events will be like curtain-raisers because the biggest event of the weekend will be the 64th NBA All-Star game, featuring a heated star-studded battle between the Eastern and Western Conference All-Stars on Sunday at the Madison Square Garden. This game, which will be tipping off at 8:30 PM ET, will be all about showcasing the skills of league’s top personalities and conference bragging rights. Below are the details you need to know, as far as the NBA All-Star Game odds and player props are concerned.

The 2015 NBA All-Star Betting
Odds to Win the 2014 NBA All-Star Game
Last year, the Easterners had the last laugh in the All-Star game, winning 163-155 in a pulsating matchup. With players like LeBron, Anthony and Irving representing the East, there is no doubt that the East will have a strong surge as they look to defend their title. Unfortunately for them, the West simply looks too hot to be handled by the Easterners. I mean, when you have Harden and Curry (two solid NBA MVP contenders), together with the explosive Thompson starting for your team, it is almost guaranteed that your opponent will get torched (even if the in-form LeBron, Gasol and Lowry are the starters in the opposing team).
I would go on-and-on about my reasons for going West, but to save you from doing a lot of reading, let me make it all simple—the Easterners have a solid defensive unit than the West, but the Westerners are more balanced in the offense. Now, bearing that point in mind, duly note that in the All-Star games (most of which usually end up in high-scoring numbers), the defense rarely matters because pretty much everybody in court can score from nearly any position. And because of this crucial reason, I’m going with the Western Conference for the win, as both teams score more than 150 points to blow the totals up the roof.
Odds to win 2014 NBA All-Star Game MVP
In last year’s All-Star game, Irving (Cleveland Cavaliers) clinched the MVP award as the East topped the West. However, with so much talent both on the West and East (including LeBron, Stephen Curry, Harden and Carmelo Anthony), it is unlikely for Irving to achieve the same feat. As a matter of fact, Irving is in this year’s reserve list, so the real battle will most likely come down to LeBron, Harden and Curry because Irving’s game-time will be limited. Now, here is where I am lost for choice, but I am strongly convinced that Harden will have the most all-rounded game, scoring many points (not the highest in the game though), giving some crucial assists and getting a good number of rebounds to take the MVP award.
Odds for the player who will score the most points in the 2014 NBA All-Star Game
Well, the All-Star game tends to come with its magic, so anyone could light up the scoreboard to take this award. But based on the current NBA season and the way the players have been racking up points, I’ll narrow down the choices to two players—LeBron and Curry. Either of these two players will be the game’s top-scorer. Though if you really put me on the spot to pick one player, I think I’d like my chances with Curry.
Odds for Most Points Scored in All Star Game by 1 Player
Expect the top player to score somewhere between 25 and 35 points, not more, not less.
Final Remarks…
Besides this All-Star game, there are many other activities slated for this weekend. So, if watching this game is not your cup of tea, be sure to sample out other events. I’m sure you’ll find something to love or fall in love with, now that it’s the season of love. And on that note, Happy Valentine’s and Happy All-Star Weekend to You All!
