On Friday, the Sacramento Kings host the Miami Heat in NBA action. The Kings (30-45) are in third place in the Pacific Division and just beat the Washington Wizards at home, 120-111, on Wednesday night. The Heat (43-31) are in second place in the Southeast division and fell to the Lakers in Los Angeles on Wednesday night, 102-100. Why Should You Bet on the Kings?

The seemingly schizophrenic Kings were on their game when the Wizards came to town, that’s for sure. DeMarcus Cousins dominated the game, scoring 29 points, grabbing 10 boards, collecting five steals and administering four thunderous blocks. Rudy Gay and Omri Casspi each chipped in 15 points, and Rajon Rondo added 15 points and 11 assists, although he picked up a double technical in the waning seconds of regulation, leading to an early exit. The Kings have won three in a row at home now, and they finally seem to be cohering under the leadership of George Karl.

Why Should You Put Your Money on Miami?

This is an example of an Angry Revenge Theory game. There was no reason for the Heat to lose this game: not only was Kobe Bryant basically unavailable because of knee and shoulder issues, but the younger generation of Lakers had their own issues as D’Angelo Russell is in the midst of a firestorm of controversy after recording a video of his teammate, Nick Young, talking about being with women besides his fiancee. The Staples Center crowd booed Russell whenever he touched the ball — even when he scored. Perhaps it was this circus atmosphere that caused Dwyane Wade (26 points, 10 boards) to say, “It was just total disrespect to the opponents tonight. Those guys are good players, and you have to play them the same way you play an opponent you fear. We didn’t do that, and that’s why they got the win.” Despite 22 points and 11 boards from Luol Deng, the Heat coughed the ball up 18 times and bricked 11 free throws, giving the Lakers the opportunity that they took. I see the Heat finding their game very easily in Sacramento and taking out a bit of their frustration.

Expert Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

Tough call here. If Cousins and Rondo decide that they feel like playing hard, they could blow out the Heat too. Cousins could control the interior even with Hassan Whiteside and Deng banging inside for the Heat. I believe that Miami’s collective chip on their shoulder will be more of a motivational factor, and I see the Heat winning, 108-104.
