Knicks vs Warriors: Good and Ugly Meet in NBA Betting Matchup

Written by on March 13, 2015

If you had to compare professional sports to an old western movie, “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” might well be the perfect fit. In the NBA this season, the Golden State Warriors have very much fallen in the good category, while the New York Knicks are deep down in the ugly. These two teams will meet on a Saturday NBA betting matchup  at the Oracle Arena. Time: Saturday, 10:30 p.m. ET Venue: Oracle Arena, Oakland National TV: none Opening line: Warriors -19 (200.5) knicks-warriors-nba-betting

NBA Betting Analysis and Game Preview

It actually might be understating things to simply describe the Warriors as good, as they have been nothing short of brilliant all year. They currently have the best record in basketball, and are on a 5-game win streak that has seen them cement their status as the top offensive team in the league. Leading the way for the Warriors is Stephen Curry and his 23.6 PPG average, but he has also had a ton of help from his supporting cast of Thompson, Green, and Bogut. Golden State have been the model of consistency all season long, and have yet to experience a losing streak of more than 2 games. While having the best record in the regular season is no guarantee of success in the playoffs, this does look like a team that has exactly what it takes to make a deep run in the postseason. Some team has to be the worst in the league every year, and it looks as though the Knicks are going out of their way to land that less than satisfactory prize. That said, they did go on a rather uncharacteristic 3-game win streak recently, but it came after enduring 16 straight losses, making the accomplishment a little tougher for Knicks fans to get excited about. While many are looking ahead to the draft as a way for the Knicks to start rebuilding, team president Phil Jackson has already stated that the team will be making a splash in the free agency market this offseason. You have to feel that the splash is going to have to be very sizeable if the fortunes of this tam are to be turned around as quickly as Knicks fans would hope. knicks-warriors-nba-betting

What Should You Bet On?

This match-up is the ultimate David and Goliath scenario, but it looked to me like the Knicks are fresh out of stones to throw. I just don’t see any way in which they can stop the freight train that is the Golden State Warriors offense, and they certainly don’t have what it takes to get into a shootout. An easy win for the Warriors here methinks, and well into the double digit margin zone.
