The Kings had been in a free fall leading into the All-Star break, losing eight of ten, and the rumors of coach George Karl’s firing were getting louder and louder. So the Kings have found that offensive balance they will need if they are going to be a threat down the stretch. Even though the Pepsi Center has been a tough road gym in the past, because of the altitude, the Kings have the rest to play well there on Tuesday.

The Kings have a defense that is relatively porous (notice that the Nuggets put up 110 on them in that first meeting). It took a monumental effort out of the Kings’ offense to outscore them, and the Kings have been anything but consistent this season. Yes, the Nuggets have that altitude advantage, and the Kings may also be a little overconfident after that eruption on Friday. Emmanuel Mudiay, one of the most exciting young point guards in the NBA, has the Denver faithful excited — but he is still very young (20) and he went right from high school to the pro leagues in China to get NBA draft eligible, so he has a lot of seasoning to undergo.
