Top NBA Betting Picks & Predictions of the Week – November 27th

Written by on November 27, 2017

The Dallas Mavericks are still in dead last in the Western Conference, but they are showing signs of life, as they have won two in a row (to sit at 5-15) including a big win over Oklahoma City this past weekend. The Rockets and the Warriors are still pacing the conference, with Houston at 15-4 and Golden State just a half-game behind. The Boston Celtics are still leading the East – they saw their 16-game winning streak come to an end last Wednesday against Miami, but then they just started another one and have won their last two. The Pistons, Cavaliers, Raptors, and 76ers are all within a game of each other in the second through fifth slots in the East, while the Bucks are having a hard time getting out of their own way and are right at the .500 mark. Top NBA Betting Picks & Predictions of the Week – November 27th

Monday, November 27

L.A. Lakers at L.A. Clippers (10:30pm ET, TWCSN / FSW2)

It’s been a while since the Clippers were looking up the standings at the Lakers, but that’s how things stand today, as the Lakers are a half-game ahead of their Staples Center co-tenants. The Clippers are having a hard time putting things together after the departure of Chris Paul, while the young Lakers are finally seeing some cohesion come out of their rebuilding efforts. Larry Nance Jr. has returned to the starting lineup for the Lakers, which has added some energy, and the team has won two of three (although those wins did come against Denver and Chicago). The Clippers aren’t getting much out of DeAndre Jordan, and it took a 33-point heroic effort out of Blake Griffin to secure a win over the Sacramento Kings on Saturday. The ceiling on these young Lakers is much higher than the one for the Clippers right now – and the Lakers are rising. NBA Betting Prediction: Lakers 108, Clippers 103

Tuesday, November 28

Miami at Cleveland (7:00pm ET, NBA TV)

The Heat are starting to shake off their slow start, winners of four of their last five, including that win over Boston, followed by wins at Minnesota and Chicago. In that win over the Bulls, the two teams combined to score just 20 points in the first quarter, the second lowest total since the implementation of the shot clock. However, the Heat exploded after that, led by 24 points from Goran Dragic. They take on a Cleveland team that has won seven in a row and heads to Philadelphia Monday night before coming home to welcome the Heat. The Cavs will get a test from the rising 76ers on Monday night, so I expect their legs to be a little tired on the second night of this back-to-back. The Heat are getting scoring from several players and big-time defense inside from Hassan Whiteside. Can the Heat end another long winning streak? NBA Betting Prediction: Miami 104, Cleveland 101

Wednesday, November 29

Washington at Philadelphia (7:00pm ET, NBA TV)

The Wizards are still a game over .500 but have dropped four of five, wrapping a win in Milwaukee with losses to Miami and Toronto beforehand and Charlotte and Portland after. In the loss to the Trail Blazers, Washington saw Portland overcome a 17-point deficit in the last 8:14 of regulation, with the Trail Blazers going on a 31-11 run to finish the game. That has to be a tough gut-punch, but they have to turn around and head to Minnesota on Tuesday night before turning around to go back to the nation’s capital to face Philadelphia. The 76ers have won three in a row since losing by eight to the Warriors, knocking off Utah, Portland and Orlando by a combined 60 points. They welcome Cleveland on Monday night before heading down to Washington on Wednesday night. The emergence of Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid continues to excite Sixer fans. NBA Betting Prediction: Philadelphia 109, Washington 101
