This Wednesday, the Pittsburgh Panthers host the #11 Louisville Cardinals in ACC basketball play. The Cardinals (21-6) are coming off a 71-64 home win over #20 Duke on Saturday, while the Panthers (19-7) are eighth in the ACC and just knocked off Syracuse on the road, 66-52 on Saturday. Why Should You Bet on the Panthers?

The Panthers are likely tougher on the inside than Duke was, which means that Louisville won’t have that advantage on the boards and on points in the paint that they had over Duke. The Panthers outrebounded Syracuse by 20 in their game on Saturday. Syracuse does play a 2-3 zone that makes them vulnerable to the offensive board, but Pitt’s performance was still impressive. Pitt held the top four scorers for the Orange to a 6- for-30 shooting performance for 19 total points. Syracuse only made 1 of 12 three-point attempts in the second half, and Pitt shut things down on the inside. If Louisville struggles with their shooting, the outcome could be quite similar.

Why Should You Put Your Money on Louisville?

pittsburgh-vs-louisville-ncaab-lines-preview The Cardinals had been teetering badly on the edge of contention for the ACC title. With consecutive losses at Duke and then at Notre Dame, it looked like some of the other teams would pass the Cardinals by. Then the Blue Devils came to town — and things looked worse. Duke went into the locker room at the half up eight points and then built that lead up to 13 in the second half. It was the Cardinals’ defense that ended up getting stop after stop in a physical second half, and Louisville outscored Duke in the paint as well, 36-22, forcing 18 turnovers in the game — 10 just from forward Brandon Ingram. So Louisville has their defensive mojo in place just in time for the stretch run, starting in Pittsburgh.

Expert Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like Louisville to continue their run of strong defense. Now that they’ve found their winning combinations again, I like them to knock off Pittsburgh, 78-66.
