Betting on Michigan State vs Indiana

Written by on February 12, 2016

On Sunday, the Indiana Hoosiers travel to East Lansing to take on the #8 Michigan State Spartans in Big 12 action, with tipoff set for 1:00pm Eastern time. The Hoosiers (20-5) are in second place in the Big Ten and are coming off a huge home win over Iowa on Thursday, 85-78. Michigan State (20-5) are currently in seventh place in a packed Big Ten, and they just came off a disappointing 82-81 loss at #18 Purdue. This is one of the biggest NCAAB betting matchups this weekend

How to Bet on Michigan State vs Indiana and TV Info

When: Sunday, February 14, 2016 – 1:00 PM ET Where: Breslin Center, East Lansing, Michigan TV: CBS Stream: Big Ten Network Radio: Spartan Sports Network Opening NCAAB Lines:  TBA

Why Should You Bet on Michigan State?

I wouldn’t let an overtime loss on Purdue’s Senior Night sway you away from betting on the Spartans. Rapheal Davis, normally all defense, had the best offensive game of his NCAA career, making a free throw with 4.6 seconds left in overtime to make the difference. A.J. Hammons, their 7-foot center, almost had a triple-double in the Boilermaker win. Purdue was up by 18 at one point, but the Spartans went up by 4 with 1:59 left in the second half, but then those two turned the game around all by themselves. Denzel Valentine was his usual offensive powerhouse for Michigan State, scoring 27 points, grabbing eight boards and dishing 10 assists. He knocked down three 3-point shots within 40 seconds in the second half to make a huge dent in that Purdue lead, and then he put in a lay-up with 11.5 seconds remaining in overtime to tie the score. Michigan State caused a complete Purdue meltdown after halftime, but Purdue got just enough plays to hold on. I don’t think all of those factors will go Indiana’s way in East Lansing.

Why Should You Bet on the Hoosiers?

indiana-vs-michigan-college-hoops-preview The Indiana Hoosiers were able to demolish the Iowa defensive pressure, as point guard Kevin “Yogi” Ferrell was able to find open people on his team to get past the aggressive Hawkeyes, and then Ferrell knocked down four consecutive free throws to help seal the upset. Indiana had been up by 16 at one point, but then the lead evaporated, and the Hawkeyes stood ready to take the win, but Farrell refused to let that happen. Farrell is going to have his hands full with a stout Michigan State defense as well, but the momentum from beating Iowa will pay huge dividends for Indiana, even though they now head on the road for one of their biggest Big Ten tests so far this year. The Hoosiers have the savvy to stay with the Spartans.

Expert Betting Pick and Final Score Prediction

I like the Spartans to get back on a winning streak with Indiana coming to town. I’m picking Sparty to prevail, 74-68.
