Updated College Basketball Championship Odds – October 25th Edition

Written by on October 25, 2017

It’s only a few weeks now until the opening of the 2017-18 College Basketball season, which means that you can already find futures wagers at the sports betting books as to which team will end up cutting down the nets at the end of the Final Four next March. Duke added Marvin Bagley III to their 2017 recruiting class, giving them the top incoming class in the nation. However, many of the usual suspects — and some of the dark horses — will have something to say between now and then. Let’s look at the latest set of College Basketball Championship Odds.

Updated College Basketball Championship Odds – October 25th Edition

Duke

  • College Basketball Championship Odds: +500
In addition to Bagley, the Blue Devils already have Frank Jackson in their backcourt, a 6’3” freshman. They are also hoping that Grayson Allen shows his star form in the coming season.

Michigan State

  • College Basketball Championship Odds: +650
Tom Izzo’s teams overperform in the Big Dance more often than not, and the Spartans have solved their problems inside with 6’9” Xavier Tillman and 6’11” Jaren Jackson here to fill the paint. Michigan State already has plenty of backcourt talent, making them a force in the Big Ten.

Arizona

  • College Basketball Championship Odds: +800
The best freshman in the nation — center DeAndre Ayton — will take the floor for the Wildcats — along with sophomore guard Allonzo Trier and fellow recruit Rawle Alkins. This combination has the Wildcats sitting atop many early top-25 polls.

Kentucky

  • College Basketball Championship Odds: +900
One-and-Done U. will bring in 6’11” big man Mohamad Bamba as the third member of an amazing recruiting class, along with 6’8” forward P.J. Washington and 6’11” forward Nick Richards.

Kansas

  • College Basketball Championship Odds: +1600
Josh Jackson and Frank Mason won’t be back. However, Malik Newman is transferring in from Mississippi State, and the Jayhawks also cleaned up in the spring signing period. Sure, they’ll win another Big 12 trophy, but how far can they go after that?

North Carolina

  • College Basketball Championship Odds: +2000
Incoming recruit Jalek Felton will join forward Tony Bradley in making the Tar Heels a strong program once again. Expect Luke Maye to have a breakout season. Now that North Carolina has proven that you can offer fake classes to athletes as long as you offer them to everyone on campus without the NCAA doing anything you, that shadow is of the program and they won’t have that distraction.

Louisville

  • College Basketball Championship Odds: +2000
This is the big wild card in the deck. What sanctions will the NCAA hand down? How will the program respond to losing head coach Rick Pitino to a scandal? It’s hard to imagine this team falling off the table, but I also don’t see them doing much in the Big Dance either. The College Basketball Championship Odds for Louisville are not good.

Missouri

  • College Basketball Championship Odds: +2000
Johntay Porter will reclassify and join Michael Porter Jr. on the Tigers’ roster. They could sneak up high in the SEC standings and even surprise Kentucky at this rate.

Wichita State

  • College Basketball Championship Odds: +2500
The Shockers join the American Athletic Conference in a bid to gain visibility and get more competitive matchups in conference play. SMU, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Temple, and Memphis could all benefit from their presence — or the Shockers could show that they are head and shoulders above those programs too. Remember, they went 31-5 last year without any seniors.

Villanova / Texas

  • College Basketball Championship Odds: +2800
Villanova loses three of the best players in the history of the program to graduation but 6’2” sophomore Jalen Brunson returns to the team. Freshman forward Omari Spellman, who was ineligible a year ago, is ready to make his debut in Philly.

Florida / Michigan

  • College Basketball Championship Odds: +3300
Derrick Walton and Zak Irvin have departed the Michigan backcourt. However, D.J. Wilson and Moritz Wagner should deliver improvement up front to help make up for those losses.

Gonzaga / UCLA / Oregon

  • College Basketball Championship Odds: +4000
Could Gonzaga reach the Final Four two years in a row? Zach Collins was just a freshman last year, and this 7-footer came off the bench primarily. Now that he will crack the starting five, the Bulldogs could be dominant once again.

Other Contenders/Pretenders

  • USC: +2500
  • West Virginia: +5000
  • Butler: +5000
  • Miami (FL): +5000
  • Purdue: +5000
  • Alabama: +5000
