Clemson and Alabama are dominating the conversation, once again, when it comes to futures wagers on the national championship, but there are many other schools, from Oklahoma and Notre Dame to Michigan and Wisconsin, who have their own ideas about how the College Football Playoff will shake out.   • Miami (FL) (+7.5) vs Florida (7:00pm ET, ESPN) in Orlando
  • Arizona (-12) at Hawaii (10:30pm ET, CBS Sports)
Rivalry games, like the one between Miami and Florida, tend to be tight. This is a neutral-site game, which means the stands will be filled with screaming fans for both sides. When the margin in a rivalry game is bigger than a touchdown, I tend to go for the underdog, particularly in the early going, when offenses are still sorting themselves out. Trips to Hawaii are often houses of horrors for the visitors. Yes, it is wonderful to go to Hawaii — but the distractions and the travel often take precedence over the game, particularly so far away from the realities of conference play. So the Rainbow Warriors could well stay within a dozen points, but I would stay away from wagering this game.
