Heading into Week 13 of the 2019 college football season, the schedule looked pretty tame once you got past the Penn State vs Ohio State game. However, with the upsets that ensued, we saw some interesting results that shaped the College Football Playoff and even the New Year’s Six bowl pictures. The Oregon Ducks went down to the desert and saw their CFP hopes end as they lost to Arizona State, 31-28. If Oregon wins the Pac-12 North and beats Utah in the title game, that could keep the Pac-12 out of the playoffs altogether. Washington was unable to take advantage of Oregon’s loss, though, taking a 20-14 loss against Colorado. Washington had beaten the Buffaloes nine straight times and five of the last seven wins had ome by at least 24 points. #5 Alabama (-3.5) at #16 Auburn
Can you believe that Auburn is a home underdog against a team starting its backup quarterback? Yes, Mac Jones did a solid job against Western Carolina, and he was a good game manager in a do-nothing second half against Mississippi State two weeks ago, but the Iron Bowl is one of the top three rivalry games in all of college football. If Auburn can’t beat an Alabama team that is missing its starting quarterback, that would really add to the size of the monkey on the Tigers’ backs — and make head coach Gus Malzahn just that more likely to bolt to Arkansas.

#2 Ohio State (-9.5) at #10 Michigan
Jim Harbaugh’s Achilles heel at Michigan has been his failure in big games — none bigger than against Ohio State, which has dominated this series for almost 20 years. Penn State came to the Horseshoe last week and did their best to slow down the Buckeyes, but they could not complete their comeback. I’m not sure Ohio State wins by double digits, but Michigan will not stop them either.

#13 Wisconsin (-3.5) at #9 Minnesota
This is the game that will determine the Big Ten West champion. Minnesota has one loss, to Iowa, but the oddsmakers aren’t giving them much respect at all. They welcome a Badgers team that demolished both Michigan and Michigan State but then was embarrassed by Illinois and Ohio State before escaping with a win over Iowa. Since then, they have delivered a pair of resounding wins over Nebraska and Purdue. Can the grinding Wisconsin defense stop Michigan? Or will this turn into a track meet?

#7 Oklahoma (-14) at #21 Oklahoma State
The Bedlam rivalry heats up again — but what is wrong with Oklahoma? They dug a 28-point hole against Baylor before coming back to win. They got out to a big lead against TCU and then had to hold on late for the win. Oklahoma needs an emphatic win to give themselves a more impressive CFP resume, but will they do it? It’s hard to argue that they will beat the high-octane Cowboy offense by this many points.

Do you remember Texas A&M beating LSU in seven overtimes at the end of the 2018 regular season? You can believe that LSU remembers. Joe Burrow should put up another huge day as part of his Heisman Trophy campaign. #3 Clemson (-26) at South Carolina
Remember that these are the same Gamecocks that beat Georgia at home. Remember that Clemson has a way of fouling up a winnable road game every year. They almost did it at North Carolina but escaped with a win. This is a huge point spread — but then again Clemson has been routing everyone in sight. I see the Tigers making a statement here ahead of the ACC Championship.
