College Football Betting for Week 7: Sure Winners

College Football Betting for Week 7: Sure Winners

Written by on October 10, 2022

Coming out of Week 6, we have seen some surprise teams that look like they might be the real deal. TCU went to Kansas with both programs undefeated, but the Horned Frogs pulled out the win. TCU has now knocked out starting quarterbacks two weeks in a row, and Kansas did come back with their backup, but a win is a win. TCU gets to deal with Oklahoma State at home next week, and the Cowboys come in unbeaten as well. Tennessee went to LSU and delivered a 40-13 beating of the Tigers, giving them three wins over Top 25 teams. Next up for the Vols is a date with Alabama – whose starting quarterback, Bryce Young, remains questionable. Let’s look at some other solid college football betting games for this coming weekend.

NCAA News: Sure Winners for Week 7

→ Saturday, October 15

#15 N.C. State Wolfpack (+4.5) at #18 Syracuse Orange
(3:30 pm ET, ACC Network)

The Orange are favorites at home, but the line has already dropped half a point since the open. Both of these teams are looking good in the ACC Atlantic, but the Wolfpack have a stout running defense, and they have beaten Syracuse up at the Carrier Dome in three of their last four meetings. Syracuse has looked nice so far, but this is their toughest test. N.C. State to cover.

#8 Oklahoma State Cowboys (+4) at TCU Horned Frogs
(3:30 pm ET, ABC/ESPN)

This line started at 3 ½ points and has already slid upward, as TCU is 4-0-1 against the spread and has, so far, shown a dynamic offense under Sonny Dykes. The home team has won in this series the last four times, and both teams bring in veteran quarterbacks, as the Cowboys have Spencer Sanders, and the Horned Frogs have Max Duggan. Oklahoma State has won the bigger games the last couple of seasons, and this is about the time of year when opposing coaches have started to catch up with Dykes. Oklahoma State to cover.

#4 Clemson Tigers (-4) at Florida State Seminoles
(7:30 pm ET, ABC)

Clemson is in the middle of its tough stretch of ACC play, and the Seminoles are a better team under Mike Norvell this year. Clemson has won the last six games in this series by an average of 18.3 points per contest, but Florida State’s offens is improved this year, averaging over 200 yards in both passing and rushing. Clemson’s defense should be a test for the SEminoles, but if D.J. Uiagalelei reverts to his mistake-prone 2021 form at all, this could end in an upset. Clemson to win and cover.

#16 Mississippi State Bulldogs (-6.5) at #22 Kentucky Wildcats
(7:30 pm ET, SEC Network)

Kentucky signal-caller Will Levis missed last week’s game against South Carolina, and the Gamecocks took advantage with a 24-14 win. Levis remains questionable, but the home team has taken the last seven meetings in this rivalry. The Bulldogs have scored at least 40 points three games in a row, while the Kentucky defense has yet to permit more than 24. Check the injury updates before you lock in a wager, but I’m liking the Bulldogs on the road unless Levis can come back. Mississippi State to win and cover.

#7 USC Trojans (+3.5) at #20 Utah Utes
(8:00 pm ET, FOX)

In the CFP era, these teams have split their eight meetings. Utah comes in after a tough loss to UCLA in which they just gave up too many big plays. The line opened at Utah -4, but it has slipped toward the Utes for some reason. Yes, USC almost spit the bit against Washington State, but I see them getting things back in order for this tough road win. USC to cover.
