College Football Week 8 Top Betting Matchups & Previews

We’ll know a lot about the major conference races by the time Week 8 comes around in the 2017 college football season. Will Sam Darnold and the USC Trojans be the class of the Pac- 12, or will their defense turn out to be their Achilles heel? Will Jalen Hurts be on the way to a Heisman Trophy as he leads Alabama to the top of the SEC once again? Will Tom Herman have the Texas Longhorns headed back to their historical dominance near the top of the Big 12? How will Lincoln Riley’s first year at the helm of the Oklahoma Sooners be shaping up? As you consider your college football betting for the coming season, here are some College Football Betting matchups in Week 8 that could bring you some big winnings.

College Football Week 8 Top Betting Matchups & Previews

South Florida Bulls at Tulane Green Wave

When: Saturday, October 21st. Where: Yulman Stadium, New Orleans, LA TV: TBA Radio: WWBA 820 AM (South Florida) / 106.1 FM (Tulane) Live Stream: TBA College Football Week 8 Odds: TBA Quinton Flowers led the South Florida Bulls’ offense with an accurate, deep arm and quick feet, frustrating defenses week in and week out. Now he has former Texas coach Charlie Strong on his sideline, a move that many people think will vault the Bulls to the top of the American Athletic Conference. While I don’t necessarily think that South Florida has the defense to win that conference, they do have what it takes to head over to the Crescent City and deliver a double-digit win over the Green Wave.

Louisville Cardinals at Florida State Seminoles

When: Saturday, October 21st. Where: Doak Campbell Stadium, Tallahassee, FL. TV: TBA Radio: WHAS 840 AM (Louisville) / WWOF FM 103.1 (FSU) Live Stream: TBA College Football Week 8 Odds: TBA What a matchup — Deondre Francois against Lamar Jackson in a battle of the two best quarterbacks in the ACC. This could be the real ACC title game, and the Seminoles get to host this matchup. I like Florida State’s defense a little better than I like Louisville’s — but Jackson is more of the proven entity at quarterback than Francois, at least at this point. I see this as the season when Francois really comes into his own, though, and I predict Florida State wins this in barnburner fashion.

Oklahoma Sooners at Kansas State Wildcats

When: Saturday, October 21st. Where: Bill Snyder Family Stadium, Manhattan, NY. TV: TBA Radio: K276EX-FM 103.1 (Oklahoma) / 810 AM (Kansas State) Live Stream: TBA College Football Week 8 Odds: TBA The Wildcats have built a legacy of getting the most out of limited talent on their roster, thanks to decades of the Bill Snyder approach to football. The Sooners come in with a first-year head coach — while they will also still have Baker Mayfield at quarterback, Kansas State is a tough place to come in and win under any circumstances, and I like the Wildcats to pull off the big upset here and inch closer to that Big 12 title game. Even if they don’t win it outright, if the Sooners are favored by a touchdown or more I would put my cash down on Kansas State. Are the Sooners a safe bet in College Football Week 8?

Colorado Buffaloes at Washington State Cougars (Saturday, October 21)

When: Saturday, October 21st. Where: Martin Stadium, Pullman TV: TBA Radio: Colorado Buffalo Sports Network (Colorado) / IMG College Sports Network (Washington State) Live Stream: TBA College Football Week 8 Odds: TBA I’ve said this before — this will be a year when Washington State makes a serious run at that Pac-12 North title. One of their marquee wins will come when the Colorado Buffaloes come to town. The Buffaloes will be a serious contender in the Pac-12 South, but the Cougars play a unique high-octane offensive game that Colorado will be hard-pressed to match, especially on the road in front of a raucous crowd. Give me Washington State to win outright. If they’re the favorite, I would give as many as six points and still take them.

USC Trojans at Notre Dame Fighting Irish

When: Saturday, October 21st. Where: Notre Dame Stadium, Notre Dame TV: NBC Radio: USC Trojans Radio Network (USC) / IMG College Sports Network  (Notre Dame) Live Stream: TBA College Football Week 8 Odds: TBA One of the most storied rivalries in college football unfolds yet again when the Trojans show up at South Bend to take on the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish could be in a little bit of rebuilding mode, while the Trojans should be on the rise thanks to the arm of Sam Darnold. The Irish didn’t impress that much on defense last year, so Darnold should have some time to look down the field — and find some receivers who have gotten open. Despite the raucous Notre Dame crowd, I see USC coming in and winning a close one.
