The Ducks have one of the best quarterbacks in the nation in Bo Nix, who is not opting out of the last game in his college football career. He led the country in passing touchdowns (40) and threw for 4,145 yards, and Oregon ranked second in the nation in passing offense, total offense, and points scored. While Liberty posted that 13-0 record and won the Conference USA title, they did not play any team with a top-50 scoring offense.
Also, Oregon had the third-fewest turnovers in the nation, while Liberty ranked 14th in the most giveaways. Liberty’s defense gave up 25 points against UMass, 28 points against Texas-El Paso, and 35 points against New Mexico State. If Oregon’s players are interested in this game at all, scoring 50 or 60 points could happen very easily. While Oregon did allow 34 points in the Pac-12 Championship, they held Oregon State to seven, Arizona State to 13, and Utah to six. All of those teams are better than Liberty.
