Must-Bet College Football Week 7 Games & Free Picks

When we hit the seventh week of the college football season, the leaves are starting to turn red and gold, and some teams will be hitting the momentum hard toward a bowl game (and a possible College Football Playoff berth) while others will be licking their wounds from some early upsets. Still others will be trying to figure out whether they are heading to postseason glory or to an early season exit. Check out our college football betting picks for the second weekend in October.

Must-Bet College Football Week 7 Games & Free Picks

Clemson at Syracuse (Friday, October 13)

When: Friday, October 13th. 7pm ET Where: Carrier Dome, Syracuse, NY. TV: ESPN Radio: 93.3 FM (Clemson) / WTKW-FM 99.5 (Syracuse) College Football Week 7 Odds: TBA That’s right — the Tigers are heading north to face the Orange on Friday the 13th, to appear on a national ESPN broadcast. The Tigers suffered their lone loss last year in a throwaway ACC cross-division game when Pitt came to town. Syracuse doesn’t have the offensive talent that Pitt did last year, but the Tigers no longer have Deshaun Watson calling the shots. If this line is above 15 points, think about picking Syracuse, as the Tigers have the distractions of a midweek flight to take on a team that will definitely have them in their sights.

Utah at USC (Saturday, October 14)

When: Saturday, October 14th. TBD Where: L. A. Memorial Coliseum, CA. TV: TBA Radio: ESPN 700 AM (Utah) / Team 1010 Sports Radio (USC) College Football Week 7 Odds: TBA This is a key Pac-12 South matchup, as the Utes will have their sights set on knocking off the Trojans and moving toward a slot in that Pac-12 title game. Sam Darnold should have his offense firing on all cylinders by this point, but the Utes combine a physical defense with a grinding running game which could keep the ball out of Darnold’s hands. I look for this game to come down to the wire, and while I like the Trojans to win, I wouldn’t take them by more than a touchdown.

Arkansas at Alabama

When: Saturday, October 14th. TBD Where: Bryant–Denny, Tuscaloosa, AL. TV: TBA Radio: Razorback Radio Network (Arkansas) / Tide 102.9 FM (Alabama) College Football Week 7 Odds: This SEC West matchup might be a game that the Crimson Tide overlook — to their peril. Arkansas brings a high-octane offense, week in and week out, and they pushed the Tide hard a year ago up in Fayetteville. The problem for Arkansas comes on defense, as they will have a hard time keeping Jalen Hurts and the Tide offense in check. I like Alabama to win this game, but I wouldn’t give more than 15 points to take them. I would, however, take the over, going as high as 50 on the total. Are the Georgia Bulldogs a safe bet in College Football Week 7?

Missouri at Georgia

When: Saturday, October 14th. TBD Where: Sanford Stadium, Athens, GA. TV: TBA Radio: KCMQ-FM 96.7 (Missouri) / Bulldogs Sports Network (Georgia) College Football Week 7 Odds: TBA Georgia comes home from a tough game at Tennessee to face the SEC East bottom-feeders the next Saturday at home. This could go a number of ways — if Georgia wins, they could fall into a trap and struggle to put away the Tigers, or they could rout them. If Georgia loses to Tennessee, they could come home discouraged and struggle — or they could take out their frustrations on a much lesser team. I see the rout happening either way for Georgia — Kirby Smart will have them too focused to fall into that trap either way — plus, Missouri just doesn’t have the talent to hold Georgia close for four quarters, even if the Bulldogs do come out in a bit of a funk.

Oklahoma vs Texas (at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas)

When: Saturday, October 14th. TBD Where: Cotton Bowl, Dallas, TX. TV: TBA Radio: KRXO 107.7 FM (Oklahoma) / KTXX 104.9 FM (Texas) College Football Week 7 Odds: TBA The most unique neutral-site rivalry game in all of college football takes place in one of the sport’s oldest stadiums, the Cotton Bowl, into which fans now have to squeeze so tightly that you have to go outside the gates to find a beer stand. Into that raucous environment will come two teams with new head coaches, as Tom Herman takes the reins for the Longhorns and former offensive coordinator Lincoln Riley slides into the Sooners’ top spot on the retirement of Bob Stoops. The Sooners should have the same offensive rhythm, with Baker Mayfield returning for his senior year, but Tom Herman has brought major improvements with him everywhere he has gone — and the Longhorns should be no different. Give me Texas to win the Red River Shootout.
