NCAAF Odds: Over/Under Picks for Week 7

NCAAF Odds: Over/Under Picks for Week 7

Colorado pulled off an impressive comeback win over Arizona State last week, but the game finished when most of the nation was already fast asleep. The late start times on the Buffaloes’ schedule have attracted the ire of Deion Sanders, who doesn’t want his transformation of the Colorado program to fall from the front pages. This week, Colorado hosts Stanford on Friday night with a kickoff time around 8:00 pm Mountain Time, which means that, even locally, the game will end near midnight. While the Friday night games give teams another shot at national broadcast exposure, it will be interesting to see if these games remain on the slate after the Pac-12 disbands. Going into Week 7, don’t miss our College Football Odds and O/U Picks for this weekend games!

Stanford Cardinal at Colorado Buffaloes

When: Friday, October 13, 2023, 9:00 pm ET
Where: Folsom Field, Boulder, CO
TV/Live Stream: ESPN

Stanford comes into this game 10th in the Pac-12 in scoring, with 19.2 points per game. Their defense is dead last, permitting 34.6 points per game. The defense has only managed two takeaways; in the first half against Oregon last week, Stanford only permitted 14 points before the floodgates opened in the third quarter. Quarterback Ashton Daniels is questionable for Friday night’s game.

Colorado’s offense is led by Shedeur Sanders, who has more passing yards (2,020) than any other quarterback in the nation. He has a 16:2 TD:INT ratio and a 72.7% completion rate. Tailbacks Dylan Edwards and Anthony Hankerson have combined for 431 yards and two touchdowns. Even with the gaudy passing numbers, the Buffaloes are just sixth in scoring in the Pac-12, with 33.0 points per game. Their defense ranks 11th, permitting 34.2 points per game. I can see this game turning into a track meet in the second half. Take the over.

#1 Georgia Bulldogs at Vanderbilt Commodores

When: Saturday, October 14, 2023, 12:00 pm ET
Where: FirstBank Stadium, Nashville, TN
TV/Live Stream: CBS

If you take the combined scores of the last three meetings between these two SEC schools, Georgia has won, 147-6. That’s an average of 51 combined points per game. The Georgia defense struggled through the first five weeks of the season, at least by Georgia standards, but their ability to lock down the Kentucky offense last week showed that they may have turned a corner.

Vanderbilt did upset Kentucky and Florida last year, but this season’s team does not seem to be as strong. They are 2-5, but their wins came against Hawai’i and Alabama A&M. There has been instability at quarterback, as senior Ken Seals came on when sophomore A.J. Swann went down with an elbow injury. Seals has a 60% completion rate, and when the Commodores do score, it generally comes through the air. It will be hard for Seals to find time in the pocket against the Georgia pass rush, though. Take the under.

Cal Golden Bears at #16 Utah Utes

When: Saturday, October 14, 2023, 3:00 pm ET
Where: Rice-Eccles Stadium, Salt Lake City, UT
TV/Live Stream: Pac-12 Network

Cal lost to Oregon State last week, but they gave the Beavers a run for their money in a 52-40 setback. Fernando Mendoza went 21 of 32 for 207 yards, with two touchdown passes and an interception. Isaiah Ifanse and Jayden Ott combined for 171 rushing yards. The offense has put up 32.5 points per game, and they run for 217 yards per game, in the top ten in the nation. It is the inconsistent play at quarterback, with three different players throwing passes this year, that has hampered the offense at times. Their defense permits 30.7 points per game.

Utah lost two weeks ago to Oregon State, 21-7. We still don’t know if quarterback Cam Rising will be able to go, and in his absence, the Utes’ offense has remained largely pedestrian. The team has had to rely heavily on their ironclad defense to get points. If Rising cannot start, the depth chart gets complicated as several of the other quarterbacks on the roster have suffered injuries this season. While Cal’s offense has been productive, the Utes have a defense unlike most other teams in the Pac-12. Take the under.
