Best NFL Betting Predictions & Picks for Week 13

Written by on November 28, 2017

What did we learn from Week 13 in the NFL? Well, if you want to stop Dallas, you load the box and make Dak Prescott pass under pressure. Then you run the ball straight up the middle, because the Cowboys don’t have any linebackers on their depth chart right now that can stop you. We also learned that Alex Smith isn’t the wizard that he was in Week One for those Chiefs. We also found out that Roger Goodell’s penchant for suspension consistency remains nonexistent, as Aqib Talib and Michael Crabtree drew two-game bans for a fight that wasn’t that different from a fight a few weeks ago that drew no suspensions at all. Oh, and the Steel Curtain isn’t all that solid. Let’s take a look at your best NFL betting picks for the first weekend of December.

Best NFL Betting Predictions & Picks for Week 13

Thursday, November 30

Washington (+2) at Dallas (8:25pm ET, NBC)

The Cowboys will still be missing Sean Lee at middle linebacker — at least at this point (so keep an eye on his hamstring updates). The Cowboys give up almost 10 points more per game without Lee in the lineup. In front of Lee is a pass rush that has some talent (hello, DeMarcus Lawrence and Taco Charlton, and David Irving) but inconsistent results. Lawrence leads the NFL in sacks, but that hasn’t stopped teams from flying up and down the field. Behind those linebackers are a secondary that gets torched each week — in their defense, they’re a young group, but it’s hard to watch opposing receivers get open against them time after time. In comes a Washington team that shares that same 5-6 record with Dallas but looks better moving the ball than Dallas does. NFL Betting Prediction: Washington 27, Dallas 16

Sunday, December 3

New England (-8.5) at Buffalo (1:00pm ET, CBS)

The 9-2 New England Patriots head to Buffalo to take on a Bills team that sits at 6-5 but refuses to die. Tyrod Taylor (who had been benched a week ago, only to come back on the field after Nathan Peterman threw FIVE interceptions in the first half against San Diego) led the Bills at will up and down the field in the first half, staking the team to an early 13-0 lead in Kansas City. The Bills would hold on for a 16-10 win. Now, the Patriots have a lot fewer problems offensively than the Chiefs do, but the Bills have a physical defense and will put forth maximum effort against the visiting Pats. I see Brady leading New England to a win, but it will take some of the wizardry he used to swipe wins earlier this season. NFL Betting Prediction: New England 30, Buffalo 24

L.A. Rams (-6.5) at Arizona (4:25pm ET, FOX)

When these two NFC West foes met for the first time this season, the Rams rolled to a 33-0 rout. The Cardinals still won’t have Carson Palmer back at quarterback, and the Rams rebounded nicely from a 17-point beating at Minnesota with a 26-20 win over the surging New Orleans Saints last year. Since that earlier meeting, the Cardinals have dropped three of four, with their lone win coming in San Francisco. They are doing a decent job moving the ball with a backup quarterback (Drew Stanton), but the Rams have too many weapons on both sides of the ball for the Cardinals to hang in this game. NFL Betting Prediction: L.A. Rams 30, Arizona 10

Philadelphia (-5) at Seattle (8:30pm ET, NBC)

The Eagles come in at 10-1 and take on a Seattle team that is missing at least half of their secondary, with Earl Wilson and Richard Sherman out with injuries. That won’t leave the Seahawks much to stop Carson Wentz with. The Eagles also have a stifling defense, as they have shown this season, and the Seahawks depend fairly heavily on the passing game, which plays right into Philadelphia’s hands. NFL Betting Prediction: Philadelphia 27, Seattle 20
