NFL Betting Odds & Predictions in Week 10: Browns - Dolphins

NFL Betting Odds & Predictions in Week 10 → Browns – Dolphins

Written by on November 9, 2022

The Miami Dolphins welcome the Cleveland Browns on Sunday afternoon on the momentum of a three-game winning streak. However, within the sports betting community, the Dolphins have been much less reliable. They covered in Week 1 and Week 2, but since then, they have gone just 1-5 against the spread. Their offense is terrific, with both Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill putting up big receiving numbers. Cleveland brought a four-game losing streak to an emphatic end, drubbing the Bengals, 32-13, and they come out of the bye to face another dynamic passing offense. Don’t lock in any NFL wagers on this game until you read our preview.

Why should you bet on the Browns?

The Browns are solid when it comes to dominating the rhythm of a game with their running attack. Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt key a rushing game that averages 164.6 yards per contest. The duo have scored 14 touchdowns. The Dolphins tend to give up a lot on the ground, as they have permitted 10 total touchdowns to running backs in the last nine games. If the Browns can punish the Miami defense by running up and down the field, that should lead to fatigue in the fourth quarter. Justin Fields broke off the longest run by a quarterback in regular season history last week against this same defense, so I see Chubb and Hunt having a big day as well.

One reason that the Browns were able to steamroll the Bengals was their pass rush. Myles Garrett leads the team with 7 ½ sacks, and the dominant feature of the Bengals-Browns matchup was Joe Burrow running for his life. Tua Tagovailoa is a mobile quarterback, but when he gets pressured, he sometimes tries to force passes where they should not go, which could lead to turnovers for the Cleveland defense.

Why should you put your money on the Dolphins?

Defense and special teams paid off against the Bears last week, as Miami blocked a punt for a touchdown – and ended up winning by three. The offense lives with the pass, as Tagovailoa has posted a 15:3 TD:INT ratio. Tyreek Hill has 1,104 receiving yards through just nine weeks, and Jaylen Waddle leads the team with six receiving touchdowns. Tight end Mike Gesicki has already picked up 238 receiving yards and scored four times. The running game has been serviceable, as Raheem Mostert has run for 478 yards.

The defense has been generous in a number of games, but the offense has largely been able to counteract that, and the defense has performed in the clutch. This led to a three-touchdown comeback against Baltimore and a convincing effort against Buffalo in two big wins. If you like the Dolphins, you see them figuring out how to clamp down on the Cleveland running game, and you see them giving Tagovailoa enough time in the pocket to find Waddle and HIll down the field.

Final Score and Prediction

I see Cleveland coming out well rested and ready to pressure and contain Tagovailoa, and I see the Browns pushing the running game and keeping the Dolphins’ offense off the field for extended periods of time. I predict a final score of Cleveland 23, Miami 20.
