NFL Game Odds: Bills at Colts | What is the future for the Indianapolis Colts and second-year quarterback Anthony Richardson?
The team just sent him to the bench in favor of Joe Flacco in Week 9 after a game in which Richardson took himself out of a red-zone play because he was out of breath.
Flacco struggled to move the offense against Minnesota in Week 9 despite solid running from Jonathan Taylor, so Richardson had to be asking himself why he wasn’t out there with the Colts stuck in the mud.
The team anticipates Richardson will transition from a carefree demeanor to a determined CEO, expecting him to recognize and implement this change independently, per ESPN’s Stephen Holder.
Teams inquired about Richardson at the trade deadline, though, and the Colts said he was off-limits. So it sounds like he’s still their plan for a long-term franchise quarterback.
Are they willing to invest the time to coach him? Or will he have to go to another team to learn how to be an NFL quarterback, like Sam Darnold had to do?
Either way, the Colts have a tough assignment coming up on Sunday with the Buffalo Bills coming to town. Read on to get our sports betting thoughts on this AFC showdown.

The Buffalo Bills entered their Week 9 home date with Miami with a 6-2 record, but they got all they could handle from the 2-5 Dolphins. The teams swapped leads four times, and defense went out the window in the second half as the teams scored on seven consecutive drives combined. The Bills have now won six in a row overall over Miami and 13 of 14 – and nine straight at home.

Tyler Bass
Bass kicked a 61-yard field goal with five seconds remaining, securing a 30-27 victory for the Bills and addressing concerns about his consistency, while setting a new franchise record, surpassing Steve Christie’s 59-yard mark from 1993.
The Bills boast a strong tailback duo in James Cook and Ray Davis, averaging 119.1 rushing yards per game, while Josh Allen’s 17:2 TD:INT ratio highlights his ball security.
That’s helped the Bills get off to their best start in 24 years. On defense, the Bills are mostly solid, permitting just 19.2 points per game behind 84 tackles from Dorian Williams.
The top sack producer is Greg Rousseau (4.5). If you like the Bills, you know that they have a six-game winning streak against teams currently riding a losing streak and that the Colts have lost the first half in eight of their last nine contests when they’re home underdogs after a loss the week before.

The Colts’ defense is opportunistic, forcing three turnovers from Sam Darnold in the first half, including a fumble return touchdown by Kenny Moore II, their sole score.
They have a physical and fast front seven, and their secondary can cover elite receivers. Moving the ball against the Colts is a real chore – which is why Sunday’s game was the first of the season in which the final score had a margin wider than one score.
Joe Flacco
The issues come on offense – even changing to Flacco couldn’t adjust the team’s passing efficiency enough for the team to sustain drives.
Midway through the fourth quarter, Flacco got the offense to the Vikings’ 40, but Harrison Smith broke up two straight passes, and the Colts turned the ball over on downs.
We have claimed S Darren Hall off waivers (from Arizona) and placed C Ryan Kelly on IR.

The Colts have won the opening quarter in four of their last five games, in which they were 3 ½ – 7 point underdogs.
If they can parlay a strong start into a consistent game, then they can hang with the Bills. Buffalo can get frustrated at times, and their secondary can get burned.
It will be interesting to see if Flacco can get the same time in the pocket (and show the same mobility) that Tua Tagovailoa showed last week for the Dolphins.
^NFL Game Odds: Bills at Colts, Final Score and Prediction in Week 10
The Bills are rolling right now, and whether Flacco plays again or Richardson gets the start, their defense should be able to bottle up Jonathan Taylor and force the Colts into third-and-long situations – and then use their pass rush to end drives, one way or another.
I see the Bills rolling to a 30-17 win.
