Why Bet on Buffalo?

Led by star performances by quarterback Tyrod Taylor (277 yards, 3 TDs) and running back LeSean McCoy (140 yards, 3 TDs), the Bills handed the San Francisco 49ers a humbling 45-16 defeat last week, extending the team’s winning streak to four. Buffalo’s scoring defense was also equal to the task, allowing 19-or- fewer points for the fourth straight game. With a now 4th-ranked scoring offense and 5th-ranked scoring defense, the Bills have all the balance they need to outlast the out-of- sorts Dolphins. After all, Buffalo has recently dominated this series, going 5-1 SU and ATS in the last six overall games against the Dolphins.

Why Bet on Miami?

Even with their balance, the Bills could be a bit shorthanded this Sunday, given that their featured back, McCoy, is nursing a hamstring injury that could keep him out of Sunday’s game. This could be a really big let-off for the Dolphins, factoring the manner McCoy has been a key component of Buffalo’s offense. In addition, Miami has a big motivation going on in its camp, coming off the stellar performance the team had in the dominant 30-15 win over the Steelers last week. Everything was pretty much spot-on for the Dolphins last week, as running back Jay Ajayi starred with 204 rushing yards and two touchdowns (on 25 carries), while the Miami D had a suffocating performance to frustrate QB Ben Roethlisberger and his bevy of weapons—including Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell. If the Dolphins can have a nearly the same performance this week, and QB Ryan Tannehill is able to do a much better job in the offense, a win could easily be forthcoming against the Bills.

My Betting Prediction and Picks

The last time the Bills met the Dolphins in 2015, McCoy and Karlos Williams (currently a player for the Steelers) combined for whopping 222 rushing and three scores to help the Bills to a 33-17 victory, and with Buffalo currently having the No.1 rushing offense that is averaging a league-best 166.5 yards per game this season, it doesn’t look like this game will be ending any differently given the way Miami has been leaking up big plays all season (save for last week’s game against the unfocussed Steelers). Plus, McCoy, as per team reports, could be still available on Sunday. But even if he misses out, Taylor and his good-enough receivers should be more than capable of taking care of things via their passing game. Final Score Prediction: Buffalo 27, Miami 15 Writer’s NFL Pick: Buffalo (-3)
