Arizona Cardinals tailback James Conner gashed the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3, establishing himself as a key player in the offense while the team waits for the return of starting quarterback Kyler Murray. However, he went down in the second quarter on Sunday as the Cardinals lost to the Cincinnati Bengals, and his knee injury sent him to injured reserve, which means that he will miss at least th next four games. With him went half of their running game production. Behind Conner on the depth chart is Keaontay Ingram, who missed Weeks 4 and 5 with a neck injury. Emari Demercado came on for Conner last week and ended with 45 yards on 10 attempts. Corey Clement has been elevated from the practice squad, and the team claimed Tony Jones Jr off waivers and added Damien Williams to the practice squad. Why should you bet on the Arizona Cardinals?
The Cardinals are looking to post their first road win of the season. They started 2023 with two tough losses by a combined seven points before rolling over Dallas by 12. Since then, though, they have lost by 19 to San Francisco and 14 to Cincinnati. In their last three games, the only time the Cardinals have covered the spread came in that win over Dallas. Joshua Dobbs, signed just before the start of the regular season to replace Kyler Murray, started with four terrific games but regressed against Cincinnati, throwing his first two interceptions of the season and completing just 47% of his passes.
Hollywood Brown is the top wide receiver for the Cardinals this year, picking up 300 yards through five games. The offense is sixth in the league in rushing yards; maintaining consistency without James Conner in the backfield, though, will be a challenge. The defense has been a problem the past two weeks, though. After holding Dallas to 16 points, the unit has permitted 69 points combined in the last two games, allowing Cincinnati to pick up 380 total yards and showing particular weakness against the pass. The defense allows 27.2 points per game, 27th in the league.

Why should you put your money on the Los Angeles Rams?
The Rams were a pleasant surprise in their opener, going to Seattle and beating a good Seahawks team. However, they have dropped three of four since then, with the only win coming in overtime in Indianapolis. Last week, they hosted the Philadelphia Eagles as four-point underdogs and lost, 23-14. They are still in search of their first win at SoFi Stadium this year. Matthew Stafford only completed 56.8% of his passes in the loss to the Eagles. He only has a 5:5 TD:INT ratio this season. The return of Cooper Kupp will help the receiving corps, allowing Puka Nacua to continue his stellar rookie campaign. The Rams’ defense has been inconsistent; against the Eagles last week, the unit gave up 454 yards. The run defense ranks 20th in the NFL, and the pass rush has only produced eight sacks in five games.

Cardinals vs Rams Final Score and Prediction
We thought that the Rams and Cardinals would struggle to find footing this year, and so far that has proven right on both fronts. The Rams have the better quarterback situation and the better injury situation at receiver and tailback, so their offense should be able to get points. The Cardinals’ defense has been exposed multiple times this season, so I predict a final score of Los Angeles 23, Arizona 13.
