NFL Game Odds: Chiefs at 49ers | The Kansas City Chiefs have now beaten the San Francisco 49ers in two Super Bowls, and they’ve come back in both of those games to swipe world championships from the 49ers.
In Super Bowl LVIII, Las Vegas hosted its first NFL title game, and neither side looked elite, as mistakes plagued both teams.
A late touchdown by Jake Moody gave the 49ers lead, but Mahomes and Kelce drove Chiefs for game-tying field goal. Game now tied at 19, heading to overtime.
The 49ers could have ended the game with a touchdown on their first possession, but they had to settle for a field goal, and then Mahomes drove the Chiefs down to a touchdown, finding Mecole Hardman on a three-yard pass to end the game.
They became the first team to repeat as Super Bowl champions in 19 seasons, and the first team ever to repeat as underdogs in both games. Now comes the rematch as the Chiefs head west as slight underdogs.
Can the 49ers get some revenge for last year’s title game defeat? Or will Kansas City move to a perfect 6-0? Read on to get our sports betting prediction.

The Chiefs had their bye in Week 6, giving them two weeks to get ready for this showdown. Andy Reid is 21-4 as a head coach coming out of the bye week, perhaps showing that few coaches can match his level of preparation, but also perhaps showing that rest makes a significant amount of difference. In Week 5, the Chiefs doubled up the New Orleans Saints at home on Monday night, rolling to a 26-13 win.
Mahomes threw for 331 yards, finding Kelce nine times for 70 yards. Kareem Hunt had a throwback night at tailback, running 27 times for 102 yards and a score. The Chiefs had pulled Hunt off the couch a couple of weeks previously, after Kansas City tailback Isiah Pacheco went down until what looks like at least December.

Mike Danna did not practice.
The Defense
The Chiefs’ defense played a significant role in the win, just as it did in the Chiefs’ run through the postseason last year. They limited Saints quarterback Derek Carr to just 185 yards passing and picked him off once. Blitzing defensive back Chamarri Conner sent Carr to the medical tent with an oblique injury on a fourth-down play, hitting him in the middle of his throwing motion. Kansas City held Alvin Kamara to just 26 yards on the ground on 11 carries, continuing a trend of bottling up featured running backs.
Baltimore’s Derrick Henry only gained 46 yards on the Chiefs in Week 1, a number that looks more impressive with each passing week, as other teams are giving up between 200 and 300 yards on the ground each week to the Ravens. Cincinnati’s Zack Moss (34 yards), Atlanta’s Bijan Robinson (31) and the Chargers’ J.K. Dobbins (32) have all had a hard time finding running room against the KC front seven.
The Streak
The Chiefs have a 14-game winning streak going in games on the West Coast. They also have a 7-game winning streak, going against the spread as underdogs. The 49ers have lost five straight October contests straight up when favored against AFC teams, and they have lost seven straight games against the spread against AFC West teams.
It’s true that the 49ers don’t play AFC West teams particularly often, but the team has dipped a bit in October the past two seasons. If you like the Chiefs, you see their defense shutting the 49ers down, and you also see Mahomes avoiding the 49ers’ pass rush long enough to make his patented plays down the field.
^San Francisco 49ers -125
San Francisco comes in on a mini-bye of their own, as they played last Thursday up in Seattle, getting three touchdown passes out of Brock Purdy in a 36-24 win over the Seahawks that moved San Francisco into first place in the division. Purdy threw for 255 yards on the night, including a 76-yard catch-and-run to Deebo Samuel, who ended up with three total receptions for 102 yards.
Tight end George Kittle caught five passes for 58 yards and two touchdowns, and the 49ers now have a six-game winning streak going against Seattle. Matthew Wright has replaced the injured Jake Moody at kicker, and he nailed three field goals in the first half.
The Defense
The San Francisco defense bent but did not break against the Seahawks, allowing Geno Smith to throw for 312 yards and a score but also intercepting him twice.

The Seahawks tried to mount a comeback in the third quarter with a kickoff return by Laviska Shenault Jr and a touchdown run by Kenneth Walker III, but the 49ers regrouped, getting an interception by Renardo Green.
This led to Kittle’s second score, helping San Francisco secure a victory. Despite early season struggles, the 3-3 49ers are now leading the NFC West and poised for a strong finish.
The Record
The 49ers have an 8-1 record against the spread in their last nine games coming after a win against an NFC West opponent, and they have a 13-1 record straight up in their last 14 games coming after play against an NFC West opponent.
If you like the 49ers, you see reserve running back Jordan Mason continuing to find room to move the ball, and you see the combination of George Kittle, Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel wreaking havoc against the Chiefs’ defense.
^Chiefs at 49ers Final Score and Prediction
The Ravens have been putting up a lot of points every week, and the Chiefs have a reputation as a high-flying offense. However, that reputation seems to be a bit overblown. The Chiefs can score in a hurry, but they’re not stacking up points all over the place like they have in years past.
Instead, it seems like Mahomes & Co. are efficient but inconsistent in their scoring, relying more heavily on their defense last year and this year than in previous seasons.
Betting Totals
The point total for this game is 47 points in Xbet, but remember that Kansas City’s home games last year took the “under” eight of nine times last season.
Super Bowl matchup resulted in 47 points, 9 in overtime. 49ers missing McCaffrey, affecting offense. Betting the under seems logical due to offensive struggles.
Before last Thursday, I would have chosen the Chiefs over the 49ers. The 49ers showed improvement against Seattle, with a strong offense and ability to force turnovers. Both teams will be cautious at first but become more aggressive as the game progresses.
I predict a final score of San Francisco 20, Kansas City 17.
