Why should you bet on the Cowboys?
The ongoing soap opera surrounding Ezekiel Elliott’s playing status should get another episode soon, as the NFL plans to appeal the stay of their suspension of the Cowboys’ tailback. However, he will definitely take the field this week, so the Broncos need to prepare to take on the NFL’s leading rusher from a year ago. While he didn’t break any big runs against the Giants last week, he wore down the New York defense over the course of the game and was a major part in the Cowboys winning not just the game but also the time of possession battle. He carried the ball 24 times for 104 yards and hauled in five catches for 36 yards. With a solid running game to provide balance, Dak Prescott was able to go 24 for 39 for 268 yards, finding Jason Witten for a touchdown. Just as big a story as the offense in Week One was the Cowboys’ defense. It’s true that the Giants were missing Odell Beckham, Jr., but the Cowboys’ pass rush kept Eli Manning from settling in — new wide receiver Brandon Marshall only caught one pass, and that was in the waning minutes of the fourth quarter. Shane Vereen, who was the big story in the Giants’ Week One win in Dallas a year ago, was largely bottled up, and Anthony Brown had a huge interception in the second half when it looked like the Giants might be mounting a serious drive.Team Statistics

Why should you put your money on the Broncos?
Trevor Siemian did an excellent job managing the Denver offense a week ago, going 17 for 28 for 219 yards and a pair of scores against just one interception. Tailback C.J. Anderson picked up 81 yards on 20 carries. Siemian looked exactly like what Broncos GM John Elway was envisioning at quarterback for this team, a solid game manager who moves the ball without endangering ball security too much to put the game at risk. If the Broncos can move the ball on steady, sustained drives against Dallas like they did against the Chargers last week, then they have an excellent chance to upend the Cowboys. The Broncos’ defense led up front by Von Miller will certainly test the Cowboys, both in terms of their ability to establish the running game as well as to protect Prescott while he is back to pass. However, the Giants loaded their defense in the past two offseasons, to the point where many observers consider their unit to be one of the best in the NFC, challenging the Legion of Boom and the Vikings’ defense in the conference. If you like Denver, then you see the Broncos doing more on offense than the Giants did while keeping the Cowboys’ offense locked up.Team Statistics
