NFL Betting: Green Bay Packers 2020 Schedule Analysis

The Green Bay Packers rolled to a 13-3 record that seemed to see them luck their way into wins, week after week. They earned a bye to the divisional round of the playoffs and then held off the Seattle Seahawks at home. The San Francisco 49ers exposed their lack of a running defense badly in the NFC Championship, sending the Packers home by a 37-20 score. That game after a 37-9 rout by the 49ers in the regular season. In the offseason, the Packers could have used another wide receiver threat to give Davante Adams some space, but they didn’t add any, instead building their running game and adding…a rookie quarterback in the first round despite still having Aaron Rodgers right there. What will Green Bay look like this year? We have an article for our NFL betting enthusiasts about the Packers’ 2020 prospects.

Green Bay Packers 2020 Schedule Analysis

Week 1: at Minnesota

The Vikings played well down the stretch last year, including a win in the wild card round at New Orleans…followed by a loss to San Francisco in the divisional round. The Vikings have the offense to outscore Green Bay. Prediction: Loss

Week 2: vs Detroit

The Lions went 3-12-1 last year. However, eight of those losses came after the injury to Matthew Stafford. Their defense is above average, and their defense can move the ball. However, they don’t have the talent to win at Lambeau. Prediction: Win

Week 3: at New Orleans

The Saints have a track-meet offense again this year, and I don’t think Green Bay has either the offense or the defense to keep up. Prediction: Loss

Week 4: vs Atlanta

The Falcons remain one of the enigmas in the NFL, playing like a 2-14 team one week and playing like an NFC title contender the next. If this were a road game, it might be a tough test for the Pack. However, I don’t see Green Bay losing this at home. Prediction: Win

Week 5: Bye

Week 6: at Tampa Bay

Aaron Rodgers vs Tom Brady. The Buccaneers still have Chris Godwin and Mike Evans, and at least two athletic tight ends. If this experiment has worked, this offense will give the Packers fits. Prediction: Loss

Week 7: at Houston

Deshaun Watson is one of the most exciting quarterbacks in the game right now, and I think he can put on a show against the Green Bay defense. Prediction: Loss

Week 8: vs Minnesota

The Vikings have a hard time winning at Lambeau Field, and by this time, the Vikings may be missing Stefon Diggs more than they thought they would. Prediction: Win

Week 9: at San Francisco

This rematch of the NFC Championship will be interesting to watch. Both teams have largely stood pat, although the loss of Emmanuel Sanders hurts the 49ers. I see San Francisco winning a squeaker. Prediction: Loss

Week 10: vs Jacksonville

Few situations help build team morale than the arrival of the Jacksonville Jaguars. I see Rodgers having a field day pick this team apart. Prediction: Win

Week 11: at Indianapolis

I predict that Philip Rivers throws at least one backbreaking pick for the Colts. I also think, though, that the Indy defense and running game can make up for it. Prediction: Loss

Week 12: vs Chicago

Will Nick Foles finally solve the Chicago quarterback problem? By Week 12, we’ll know how that worked out. The Bears’ defense should be able to slow the Packer offense enough to give Foles plenty of drives — but that won’t happen until their matchup at Soldier Field. Prediction: Win

Week 13: vs Philadelphia

Rodgers is the better quarterback, while Wentz has the better receivers. I’m going with the home team here. Prediction: Win

Week 14: at Detroit

The Lions did come within a whisker of beating Green Bay not once but twice last year. I don’t see the Packers making those same mistakes this year. Prediction: Win

Week 15: vs Carolina

The Panthers bring Teddy Bridgewater at quarterback, and he will be much better than a lot of prognosticators think. Remember, he knew how to beat the Packers when he was in Minnesota. Prediction: Loss

Week 16: vs Tennessee

The Titans have the better defense and the better running game. They will grind down the Packers as they move close to an AFC South title. Prediction: Loss

Week 17: at Chicago

Nick Foles leads the Bears to a Week 17 win over the Green Bay Packers. Prediction: Loss

Season Record Prediction: 7-9
