Bet on the Packers: Odds, Predictions, and Best Bets for 2024

Back in November, Jordan Love’s future in Green Bay Packers was far from certain. He was playing out a one-year deal, an extension that the team had offered in lieu of the fifth year of Love’s rookie contract.

The Packers were just 2-5, and general manager Brian Gutekunst told reporters that it was likely that the rest of the 2023 regular season would determine if Love was the long-term solution at quarterback.

Green Bay’s Love impressed with 18 touchdown passes and minimal interceptions in the last eight regular season games. The team secured a wild-card playoff spot with a 9-8 record, surprising sports betting experts.

In the postseason, he guided the Packers to a playoff victory in Dallas, almost defeating San Francisco on the road. Momentum shifted, and the 49ers ultimately prevailed.

The team decided that Love is their quarterback, giving him a four-year, $220 million contract that puts him level with Joe Burrow and Trevor Lawrence as the highest-paid quarterbacks in league history.

As we look at the 2024 regular season, let’s break down the Packers’ season, one matchup at a time.

NFL Futures Odds, Win/Loss Predictions and Season Preview: Green Bay Packers 2024

vs Philadelphia Eagles (in Brazil) Week 1

The NFL almost never plays on Friday night because of complaints about competition with high school football, but this date in Brazil made it necessary.

The Packers will face a high-powered (and highly motivated) Philadelphia offense in Week 1.

Their O-line is stout, and Jalen Hurts has A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert running routes – and an elite tailback in Saquon Barkley.

NFL Pick: Eagles win, 0-1.

Week 2: vs Indianapolis Colts

The defense and running game in Indianapolis are terrific. They almost made the playoffs last year after having a backup quarterback start 13 of 17 games.

Can the Packers give Love time to pass? Indianapolis was eighth in sack percentage last year and added to their pass rush by drafting Laiatu Latu in the first round.

However, the Packers didn’t let the Cowboys or 49ers sack Love at all in their playoff games.

NFL Pick: Packers win, 1-1.

at Tennessee Titans Week 3

Tennessee quarterback Will Levis had the Titans ranked 27th in scoring last year.

The team did add receivers Tyler Boyd and Calvin Ridley, and they added L’Jarius Sneed to the secondary. If Love can maintain ball security, the Pack should win.

NFL Pick: Packers win, 2-1.

^

Week 4: vs Minnesota Vikings

Aaron Jones returns to face his old team, and Justin Jefferson is still a dangerous receiver.

However, neither Sam Darnold nor J.J. McCarthy (at least at this point) looks ready to face off with Love in a quarterback duel.

NFL Pick: Packers win, 3-1.

^

at L.A. Rams Week 5

Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua are a dangerous receiving duo, and quarterback Matthew Stafford could end up in the Hall of Fame.

The difference for this game will come in the lines, where the Packers are better on both sides of the ball.

NFL Pick: Packers win, 4-1.

^

vs Arizona Cardinals Week 6

This is an easy trap game as Arizona has posted two straight 4-13 seasons.

It’s a noon kickoff, so the Packers need to come out with plenty of energy. Kyler Murray now has Marvin Harrison to catch passes, but the Arizona defense is too porous to win.

NFL Pick: Packers win, 5-1.

^

Week 7: vs Houston Texans

Houston went 10-7 last year and won the AFC South, and then they demolished Cleveland to open the playoffs.

Since then, they’ve added wide receiver Stefon Diggs and pass rusher Danielle Hunter.

The Houston secondary is the weakness on defense, but the Texans’ offense will turn this into a track meet.

NFL Pick: Texans win, 5-2.

^

at Jacksonville Jaguars Week 8

The Jaguars fell off the table in the second half of the season, and in this game, they’ll be back at home after two games in England.

That jet lag, and the disappointment from the home loss last week, will help the Packers on the road.

NFL Pick: Packers win, 6-2.

^

Week 9: vs Detroit Lions

Between 1992 and 2014, Green Bay won 24 straight home games against Detroit.

However, the Lions have a two-game winning streak at Lambeau Field. Detroit’s secondary has improved, so it will be up to Jared Goff to stave off Father Time here.

NFL Pick: Packers win, 7-2.

Week 10: BYE

^

at Chicago Bears Week 11

Packers coach Matt LaFleur has a 10-0 record against Chicago, and Green Bay has won 13 of their last 14 at Soldier Field.

The Bears have top pick Caleb Williams and a solid receiving corps. It won’t be enough.

NFL Pick: Packers win, 8-2.

^

vs San Francisco 49ers Week 12

Here’s the real test – a rematch of last year’s divisional playoffs.

The 49ers still have Christian McCaffrey, and they are likely to keep Brandon Aiyuk happy and in the fold despite his trade request. The defense is still terrific on all three levels.

The Packers have a lot to prove here, though.

NFL Pick: Packers win, 9-2.

^

Week 13: vs Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins lost defensive tackle Christian Wilkins, and their 11-6 record last year didn’t really have any impressive wins other than that late-season victory over Dallas.

On the road, they struggle – and especially in the cold-weather part of the season.

NFL Pick: Packers win, 10-2.

^

at Detroit Lions Week 14

The Lions will be ready for revenge after losing at Lambeau Field.

Get ready for this to be a preview of a tough playoff matchup.

NFL Pick: Lions win, 10-3.

^

Week 15: at Seattle Seahawks

Seattle’s defense lost linebackers Jordyn Brooks and Bobby Wagner, and the Packers get a short break after having played the previous Thursday.

NFL Pick: Packers win, 11-3.

^

vs New Orleans Saints Week 16

A dome team traveling to play a cold-weather game? With inconsistent quarterback Derek Carr leading the way?

NFL Pick: Packers win, 12-3.

^

Week 17: at Minnesota Vikings

This could be a surprisingly tough game as J.J. McCarthy might have figured out the NFL game, and he will have Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and T.J. Hockenson running routes.

NFL Pick: Vikings win, 12-4.

^

vs Chicago Bears Week 18

This week could settle the NFC North title, so expect the Packers’ starters to be on the field.

Also, expect the Packers to move the ball up and down the field after that loss last week.

NFL Pick: Packers win, 13-4.
