Jaguars at Lions: NFL Week 11 Odds, Expert Picks & Score Prediction - 2024 Season

Jaguars at Lions: NFL Week 11 Odds, Expert Picks & Score Prediction – 2024 Season

Written by on November 14, 2024

NFL Game Odds: Jaguars at Lions | Detroit opened as 14-point favorites over Jacksonville – and that was before we learned that the Jaguars would not have quarterbacked Trevor Lawrence for a second straight week.

Of course, they almost beat the Minnesota Vikings last week without their starter as the defense kept the visitors out of the end zone in a 12-7 loss.

This time around, though, the Jaguars face one of the top-scoring attacks in the league, and they’ll have Mac Jones running the offense from the start.

Can the Jaguars handle the top tailback duo in the league (Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery) and a passing attack featuring Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta?

Jared Goff threw five interceptions last week in Houston, and the Lions still won. How should you handle your online betting for this game? Read on to get our prediction.

Jacksonville Jaguars +570

The Jaguars’ defense stood tall against Minnesota last week. They picked Sam Darnold off three times – twice in the end zone. Darnold was trying to force all three balls to star receiver Justin Jefferson, but give Jacksonville credit for understanding what Darnold wanted to do and taking advantage of his mistakes.

The offense, though, is in tatters. Mac Jones committed three turnovers of his own on a day when the Jaguars had just 143 yards of offense. They had one touchdown drive that went 70 yards, which means that the entire rest of the game only saw them gain 73 more. This is an issue that runs deeper than the starting quarterback because they only gained 215 yards against Philadelphia the week before.

It’s true that the Jags are down to their third-string left guard and lost top receiver Christian Kirk for the season (collarbone). However, they also didn’t target their next-best receiver, Brian Thomas Jr, until the last minute of the third quarter, and he didn’t catch a ball until there were just over four minutes remaining in regulation. That will need to change against the Lions.

Detroit Lions -901

Did you go to bed on Sunday night with the Lions down by 10 points? This writer did – only to wake up shocked at another Detroit miracle. Yes, Jared Goff threw five interceptions – after having only thrown four total on the season going into the game – and none since Week 3. That meant he had thrown 114 passes in a row without turning the ball over. The Texans were able to get pressure on Goff, though, pressure that the Jaguars haven’t been able to mount on opposing quarterbacks.

Kicker Jake Bates has shown that he is clutch for the Lions. He tied the game with a 58-yard field goal with 5:01 left in regulation, and then he nailed that game-winner from 52 yards away. Matthew Wright (ironically, of the Jacksonville Jaguars) was the last kicker to convert two field goals of at least 50 yards in the last six minutes of regulation. This week, keep an eye on Detroit wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown. He has caught touchdown passes in seven straight games, a franchise record.

NFL Game Odds: Jaguars at Lions Final Score and Prediction in Week 11

The Jaguars only lost to Philadelphia by five – on the road. They only lost to Minnesota by five. Why is this line 13 ½ points?

The Lions tend to score in bunches, and they have been dismantling lesser opponents in ways that the Eagles and Vikings have not, at least not in recent weeks.

Yes, Philadelphia routed Dallas, but the Cowboys have been getting embarrassed at home all season long.

I think that Lions coach Dan Campbell will have a defensive package figured out to rattle Mac Jones from start to finish, and the Lions will take advantage of short fields from turnovers and three-and-outs.

I predict a final score of Detroit 34, Jacksonville 13.
