Kansas City Chiefs Odds: Top Games Betting Analysis and Predictions

Kansas City Chiefs Odds: Top Games Betting Analysis and Predictions

One of the biggest questions facing the Kansas City Chiefs going into 2024 is the status of wide receiver Rashee Rice.

During the off-season, he was charged with eight felony counts after a multi-car wreck at high speed in Dallas, and he was also part of an investigation for alleged assault.

Regardless of the dispositions of those situations in court, the NFL is almost certain to impose discipline in the form of a multi-game suspension.

Rice took off as a key contributor in the Chiefs’ offense in 2023 and was instrumental in their Super Bowl run.

The addition of Hollywood Brown in free agency and Xavier Worthy through the draft should make life without Rice easier – and open opportunities for him once he returns.

NFL Betting Preview: Top Regular Season Games for the Kansas City Chiefs

As we start to think about sports betting and the NFL regular season, let’s look at some of the top games on the Chiefs’ 2024 slate as they look to become the first team ever to win three straight Super Bowls.

vs Baltimore Ravens Week 1

The 2024 NFL regular season opens on Thursday night at Arrowhead Stadium once again; this time, it will be the Baltimore Ravens coming to town seeking to avenge their home loss in the AFC Championship last year.

The most shocking part of the Chiefs’ win was the fact that their defense held a terrific Baltimore offense to just 10 points at M&T Bank Stadium.

The Chiefs lost their Week 1 opener last year as Detroit came in and upset Kansas City on the night they received their Super Bowl rings.

This time around, the Chiefs will have massive targets on their backs as well – and the Ravens will have even more motivation to have a big game than the Lions did.

It will be interesting to see if the Chiefs have any sort of Super Bowl hangover, or if they’re ready to take care of business. The Ravens have a new weapon on offense this time around in the person of tailback Derrick Henry.

That pounding in the running game will make the Ravens even more multidimensional.

Week 7: at San Francisco 49ers

This game will be a rematch of the last Super Bowl. One cloud hanging over this game already, though, is the calf injury that has already knocked San Francisco tailback Christian McCaffrey out of the entire preseason.

The team doesn’t have a regular-season game until Monday, September 9, when they welcome Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets. McCaffrey had 417 touches, including playoff action, last season, setting a career high.

Elijah Mitchell is another San Francisco tailback dealing with injury, nursing a strained hamstring. By Week 7, the hope is that McCaffrey is back and at full strength, but last season we saw how long a strained calf kept Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow from playing his best football.

The 49ers also have issues with wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, who has gone back and forth between demanding a trade and telling reporters that he plans to play the season with the 49ers. With that much instability at the skill positions, it will be interesting to see if the 49ers can keep playing at an elite level.

vs Houston Texans Week 16:

These are no longer the Houston Texans that would barely win the AFC South and then get annihilated in the wild-card round, with then-head coach Bill O’Brien looking on with frustration as his team got outclassed in several consecutive postseasons.

These are also no longer the Houston Texans who made one of the best quarterbacks in the league at the time (Deshaun Watson) so mad that he refused to play and demanded a trade, leaving them with the likes of Davis Mills running the offense in an unnecessary rebuild that squandered J.J. Watt’s prime years.

Now the Texans are knocking on the door of the NFL’s elite thanks to the play of C.J. Stroud at quarterback.

This is definitely a possible preview of an AFC playoff game, and the Chiefs will need all the information they can get out of this close-up view of both the high-flying Houston offense and the suddenly hard-nosed defense.

Chiefs Betting Guide, June 12, 2024

If the Kansas City Chiefs can win Super Bowl LIX, they would become the first team ever to achieve a Super Bowl three-peat. In fact, they’d be the first team just to appear in three straight Super Bowls. The Green Bay Packers won the NFL Championship in 1965 and then won the first two Super Bowls in 1966 and 1967, so we have had three-time repeat champions before in the NFL. If you go way back into the historical archive, there have been other three-peat champions.

The Canton/Cleveland Bulldogs won three titles between 1922 and 1924 and the Packers reeled off three titles between 1929 and 1931, but back then the league lacked playoffs and just gave the trophy to the team with the best win-loss record. Can the Chiefs pull it off? Check out the NFL betting odds for the Chiefs to win everything from their division to the title, as well as a couple of other props, as well as our thoughts on their schedule.

NFL Week 1: vs Baltimore Ravens TNF

The Ravens are looking for revenge from that home AFC Championship loss. Who will have the bigger hangover, the Ravens or the Super Bowl champion Chiefs? Kansas City hosted a Week 1 Thursday game last year and lost to Detroit. The Ravens did lose some starters on the O-line and their defensive coordinator, but the Chiefs are likely not to have Rashee Rice. Ravens win. 0-1.

NFL Week 2: vs Cincinnati Bengals

Joe Burrow comes to town in Week 2 with a revamped O-line. Will the team have Tee Higgins, though? Will they be able to run the ball without Joe Mixon? Burrow has a way of starting seasons slow, and the Chiefs will be ready to wash that Week 1 loss out of their hair. Chiefs win. 1-1.

vs Atlanta Falcons SNF Week 3 NFL

The Falcons almost won the NFC South last year without a real NFL-caliber quarterback, and now they might have two after signing Kirk Cousins and drafting Michael Penix Jr. Their O-line is terrific, and their skill group includes Bijan Robinson at tailback and Kyle Pitts at tight end. Even so, the Chiefs are still a few levels above them. Chiefs win. 2-1.

Week 4 NFL at L.A. Chargers

The Chargers have Jim Harbaugh as head coach. They don’t have Keenan Allen or Mike Williams at wide receiver, though. What will Justin Herbert do to adjust? Chiefs win. 3-1.

vs New Orleans Saints MNF NFL Week 5

Derek Carr has a 1-8 career record at Arrowhead Stadium. His passer rating is 76.1, and his TD:INT ratio is 10:9. The Saints are also stuck at some of the skill positions because of their salary cap situation. Chiefs win. 4-1.

BYE in the NFL Week 6

Week 7: vs San Francisco 49ers

Here’s an intriguing Super Bowl rematch. The 49ers will be all set to get revenge, but they have never beaten Patrick Mahomes in four tries. Also, Andy Reid has a 28-3 record when his team is coming out of a bye week and his opponent is not. Chiefs win. 5-1.

Week 8 at Las Vegas Raiders

Allegiant Stadium is where the Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII. However, the Chiefs have a way of forgetting their defense when they play the Raiders on the road. So take the over, but let’s not think Gardner Minshew will out duel Mahomes. Chiefs win. 6-1.

vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers MNF Week 9

Did you know that Kansas City hasn’t beaten Tampa Bay at home since 1986? Baker Mayfield almost delivered a huge win at Arrowhead in a divisional playoff game with the Cleveland Browns. The Buccaneers’ defense should be pretty solid, but I see Mahomes finishing this game with a comeback drive. Chiefs win. 7-1.

Week 10 NFL: vs Denver Broncos

The Broncos are in rebuild mode with Bo Nix at quarterback. Chiefs win. 8-1.

at Buffalo Bills Week 11 NFL

Josh Allen is still an elite quarterback, but it will be interesting to see what he does without Stefon Diggs or Gabe Davis. The Bills’ defense will be on point, and this is a team that pulls off regular-season wins, only to fall in the postseason. Bills win. 8-2.

at Carolina Panthers Week 12

Another rebuilding team, another win. Would you believe that Carson Wentz is now the quarterback in Carolina? Chiefs win. 9-2.

Week 13: vs Las Vegas Raiders in Black Friday

The Chiefs lost at home to Las Vegas last year, but the memory of the loss in Buffalo should keep them focused. Chiefs win. 10-2.

vs L.A. Chargers SNF NFL Week 14

It’s time for Justin Herbert finally to steal a game against Patrick Mahomes, and by now he will have found his rhythm with his new receivers. Chargers win. 10-3.

NFL Week 15 at Cleveland Browns

The Browns have a terrific defensive line led by Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett. By now, the Chiefs may have at least one key injury on the O-line. But do you really think Deshaun Watson can lead the Browns to a clutch win? Chiefs win. 11-3.

Week 16: vs Houston Texans Saturday Football

This should be a playoff preview, and the Texans have made their wide receiver group elite by adding Stefon Diggs. Even so, the Chiefs should be able to win this at home. Chiefs win. 12-3.

Week 17 at Pittsburgh Steelers in Christmas Day

The Chiefs head to Heinz Field for the first time since 2018. In that game, Mahomes threw for 326 yards on only 28 attempts, throwing six touchdown passes. That came in Week 2; the weather here could be a little less hospitable. Even so, Mahomes can outduel Russell Wilson. Chiefs win. 13-3.

at Denver Broncos NFL Week 18

Last year, the Chiefs lost by 15 points in Denver. This time around, they should have starters on the bench as they await their bye week. Broncos win. 13-4.
