If the matchup in Super Bowl LVI simply went to the top team in each conference from the sports betting odds lists, then we would have a rematch of Super Bowl I, when the Green Bay Packers routed the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have gone to three straight AFC Championships, winning the last two, and they won Super Bow LIV. The Packers have advanced to three straight NFC Championships but have not reached the Super Bowl in any of those seasons. Will these two teams meet at SoFi Stadium for the Vince Lombardi Trophy next month? Let’s take a look at updated Super Bowl title odds for each contender, along with some suggestions for playoff wagering.

The Rams look like an overrated team at this point. Yes, they came back and beat Baltimore on the road, driving the ball 75 yards to take a one-point lead in the last minute of the fourth quarter, and then they followed that up with a huge sack by Von Miller to keep the Ravens from sniffing field goal range. However, the fact that the Rams struggled against a Ravens team clinging to postseason life – and that Matthew Stafford had difficulties with turnovers once again – suggests that the Rams might struggle against other elite teams.
Tampa Bay is losing offensive talent right and left. Leonard Fournette and Chris Godwin have gone down to injury, and then Antonio Brown added insult to injury with his bizarre abandonment of the team, which took place in full view of the fans in the team’s win over the Jets on Sunday. Brown is now no longer part of the Buccaneers’ roster. Yes, Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski are still on board, along with Mike Evans and tailback Ronald Jones II, but at some point Brady won’t have enough playmakers on the field with him to beat one of the other elite teams remaining in the postseason.
Cincinnati has emerged as the most exciting team in the AFC, if not the whole NFL, right now after surviving the Kansas City offense – and some baffling decisions by their head coach in that win over the Chiefs on Sunday. The officials bailed Cincinnati out with an illegal contact call on the Chiefs’ defense, turning what would have been a failure on fourth-and-goal (giving the ball to Kansas City with the game tied, making overtime a sure thing – after Joe Burrow had been injured on that fourth-down play) into a first-and-goal. Backup Brandon Allen came in to kneel and then clock the ball, setting up the game-winning chip shot. After the game, Burrow said he will be ready to play next week, but given his prior knee struggles, that injury is a big question mark. Expect him to rest next week with the division clinched, unless the Bengals have a shot at the top seed. They will know that after the Denver-Kansas City game on Saturday. Either way, this is a team that no one wants to play.
