Pittsburgh Steelers Odds and Analysis for the 2023 Season

NFL Expert Predictions: Steelers Odds and Chances for Success in 2024

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin enters his 18th season coaching the Steel Curtain.

The biggest news in their off season came at quarterback, as the team said goodbye to Kenny Pickett after two seasons.

The product of the Pitt Panthers simply couldn’t settle in and run the offense, so they went out and got both Justin Fields and Russell Wilson in the off-season.

Both of these signal-callers come with highly checkered pasts – Fields entered the NFL with Chicago after starring at Ohio State, but he had mixed results running the Bears’ offense.

Wilson has a Super Bowl ring from his time with Seattle, but the last season or so with the Seahawks saw some decline, and his time in Denver with coach Sean Payton did not produce much in the way of excitement either.

Wilson had to sit out the first day of practice with calf tightness, which meant that Fields got the first-team offensive reps. Wilson is still the presumptive starter at quarterback for now.

Let’s take a look at win/loss predictions through the Steelers’ schedule as you start to build your sports betting strategy for the coming NFL season.

NFL Futures Odds, Win/Loss Predictions and Season Preview: Philadelphia Eagles 2024

at Atlanta Falcons Week 1

Both of these teams are working in new quarterbacks, as the Falcons signed Kirk Cousins to a big free-agent deal. Arthur Smith is now the Steelers’ OC, but his first game will come against the team that he coached most recently.

Going on the road will be tough for the Steelers, especially with the Falcons having a stout running game. Falcons win, 0-1.

at Denver Broncos Week 2

Now Russell Wilson returns to his latest team. The Broncos are likely to have Bo Nix out of Oregon as their starting quarterback, and the Steelers should be able to take advantage of his inexperience. Steelers win, 1-1.

^

vs L.A. Chargers Week 3

Justin Herbert will make his debut in Pittsburgh, and one of the biggest news items we’ve been seeing out of the Chargers’ training camp is how balanced Jim Harbaugh wants the team to be, to save the wear and tear on their talented quarterback.

Can the Steelers keep up with the Chargers’ offense? Chargers win, 1-2.

^

Week 4: at Indianapolis Colts

The Colts had a backup quarterback rolling for most of 2023 and still were a fourth-down completion from getting to the playoffs. Can Anthony Richardson negotiate the Pittsburgh defense, though? Steelers win, 2-2.

^

Week 5: vs Dallas Cowboys

This is the Steelers’ first prime-time action. Dallas has CeeDee Lamb holding out and Micah Parsons unhappy over the terms of his rookie deal.

All kinds of drama could unfold in Dallas between now and then, while the Steelers continue to run a smoothly managed franchise. Steelers win, 3-2.

^

at Las Vegas Raiders Week 6

The Greatness are mired in a rebuilding process, especially at quarterback, where their two choices will be Gardner Minshew or Aidan O’Connell.

The Steelers’ defense should be able to deal with either of those. Steelers win, 4-2.

^

vs. N.Y. Jets Week 7

It’s back to Sunday night for the Steelers, but this time it won’t be quite as fun of an outcome, as Aaron Rodgers should be able to get points for the Jets. Meanwhile, the Jets’ defense might be better than Pittsburgh’s. Jets win, 4-3.

^

vs N.Y. Giants Week 8

This isn’t the most exciting Monday night showdown of the season, as the Giants are likely playing for he top draft pick for 2-25. Steelers win, 5-3.

^

Week 9: BYE

^

at Washington Commanders Week 10

This is another team with a rookie quarterback, as LSU’s Jayden Daniels should be running the Washington offense by this point.

This means another series of lessons taught by the Pittsburgh defense. Steelers win, 6-3.

^

Pittsburgh Steelers vs Baltimore Ravens Week 11

Did you know that Pittsburgh has won seven of their last eight games against the Ravens? This time, though, the combo of Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson can do enough to get the win. Ravens win, 6-4.

^

Week 12: at Cleveland Browns

This game will really depend on the ball security of the Cleveland offense. If Deshaun Watson (or Jameis Winston) turns the ball over more than once, the Steelers will win.

Nick Chubb should be back for the Cleveland offense by this point, though, so the quarterback shouldn’t have to do a lot that’s risky. Browns win, 6-5.

^

at Cincinnati Bengals Week 13

Joe Burrow is healthy, and the O-line has been revamped. The Bengals should be pushing for an AFC North title this year while the Steelers are still looking to get consistent play. Bengals win, 6-6.

^

Week 14: vs Cleveland Browns

This time, the Steelers turn the tables on Cleveland after seeing them just two weeks ago. Steelers win, 7-6.

^

Pittsburgh Steelers at Philadelphia Eagles Week 15

The Eagles added a legit tailback in Saquon Barkley, and they have two new coordinators. The Steelers haven’t won in Philadelphia in almost six decades, and that futility will not end in Week 15. Eagles win, 7-7.

^

Week 16: Pittsburgh Steelers at Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens haven’t beaten Pittsburgh at home in five seasons. It will be just about time for a late-season Ravens meltdown game, and this will be the one. Steelers win, 8-7.

^

vs Kansas City Chiefs Week 17

Patrick Mahomes has a perfect 3-0 record against the Steelers, and on Christmas Day he will have the chiefs’ offense locked and loaded. Chiefs win, 8-8.

^

vs. Cincinnati Bengals Week 18

Will the Bengals be resting their starters after winning the AFC North? Maybe. But this division race might also come down to the final week. Bengals win, 8-9.
