The Kansas City Chiefs passed a huge test on Monday Night Football, going to Baltimore and delivering an emphatic win over the Ravens, who consider themselves the Chiefs’ top rival in the AFC. Obviously, there’s a long way to go before the postseason, but the Ravens have a lot of questions to answer on both sides of the ball, while the Chiefs showed some significant improvement on defense. The first three weeks of the NFL regular season have yielded quite a few surprises, such as the NFC East starting with a combined 2-9-1 record and the Philadelphia Eagles punting late in overtime to settle for a tie with Cincinnati instead of being aggressive at the end.
As you consider your sports betting for NFL Week 4, look at the latest power rankings.
NFL Betting News:
Power Rankings Before Week 4
#1 Kansas City Chiefs (3-0)
The only question for the Chiefs comes on defense, as Kansas City was 28th in the league in yards permitted (but sixth in points permitted). They held firm against the Ravens, so improvement may be on the way.
#2 Seattle Seahawks (3-0)
Seattle’s biggest problem is their secondary, as they have allowed well over 1,200 passing yards in their three wins. Their pass rush has not done enough to hurry quarterbacks, and they just lost safety Marquise Blair for the season, and Quinton Dunbar is questionable for Week 4.
#3 Baltimore Ravens (2-1)
Marquise Brown came into 2020 with expectations of establishing himself as a true #1 wide receiver, but he has one catch for 47 yards, and then a bunch of short receptions. He still has time to grow, though.
#4 Green Bay Packers (3-0)
The Packers should probably have drafted a wide receiver instead of a quarterback. Davante Adams missed Week 3 with a hamstring injury, leaving the team relying on Allen Lazard.
#5 Buffalo Bills (3-0)
The Bills have the #2 passing game and the #4 offense in the NFL, numbers that the Bills have not seen in decades. Josh Allen has led the team in late comebacks in the last two games. The defense has been a little porous, #16 in points permitted and #20 in yards permitted.
#6 Tennessee Titans (3-0)
Tennessee permitted 480 offensive yards against Jacksonville and then 464 yards against a Minnesota team that mounted 11 points against Indianpolis. In each of the last two weeks, the Titans have permitted 30 points. The rushing defense has been the problem and needs refurbishing.
#7 Pittsburgh Steelers (3-0)
Ben Roethlisberger has looked solid so far in his return from an elbow injury. Both JuJu Smith-Schuster and Diontae Johnson have been good targets, but Johnson needs to up his production.
#8 Los Angeles Rams (2-1)
The running game has done well despite the departure of Todd Gurley II, second in the league with 511 rushing yards and six scores on the ground. However, the defense still needs some work.
#9 New England Patriots (2-1)
Cam Newton is experiencing a resurgence in Boston, but getting better tight end production would help the team on third downs.
#10 New Orleans Saints (1-2)
Drew Brees still looks a little tentative on throws down the field, and not having Michael Thomas (ankle) is hindering the Saints’ attack. Brees and Emmanuel Sanders will hopefully continue to develop their rhythm.
#11 San Francisco 49ers (2-1)
The 49ers could sink like a stone with a backup quarterback leading the offense and Nick Bosa done for the year.
#12 Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1)
Tampa Bay has scored ten offensive touchdowns in three games, sixth best in the NFL. They have an 80 percent red zone touchdown percentage through three weeks, way up from 27.3 percent under Jameis Winston through three weeks a year ago.
#13 Arizona Cardinals (2-1)
Kyler Murray fell back to earth in Week 3, with three interceptions against Detroit. He won’t stay down long.
#14 Chicago Bears (3-0)
It didn’t take long for the Bears to turn to Nick Foles at quarterback, who led the Bears to a comeback win over the Falcons on Sunday.
#15 Las Vegas Raiders (2-1)
New England exploited Derek Carr’s desire to check down and throw to the closest receiver in their win over the Raiders last week. Will other teams take the hint?
#16 Indianapolis Colts (2-1)
The Colts have shown their smarts by leaning on the running game and the defense. Philip Rivers has only thrown 23 passes per game in Weeks 2 and 3.
#17 Cleveland Browns (2-1)
The Browns scored at least 30 points in back-to-back games for the first time in 10 years in Weeks 2 and 3, after that ugly rout in Baltimore. The running game has turned the Browns into an old-school pounding team.
#18 Dallas Cowboys (1-2)
The Cowboys are an onside kick away from an 0-3 start. The defense is ridiculous, permitting 97 points in Weeks 1-3, the most in any season, including 77 in Weeks 2 and 3.
#19 Los Angeles Chargers (1-2)
The Chargers have coughed the ball of five times this season, including four against Carolina in Week 3.
#20 Houston Texans (0-3)
The Texans have their entire starting O-line back from 2019, but that hasn’t helped protect Deshaun Watson, who has taken 13 sacks, second highest in the NFL. The Texans did push hard against Pittsburgh in Week 3 but fell short.
#21 Minnesota Vikings (0-3)
Kirk Cousins faced a 47 percent pressure rate against the Titans, and guards Dru Samia and Dakota Dozier are ranked among the bottom in the league. This explains why Cousins can’t move the ball.
#22 Philadelphia Eagles (0-2-1)
Carson Wentz had a great first half in Week 1, but things have fallen off the table since then. He has six interceptions (tied for the league lead), is last in QBR (63.9) and ranks 29th with a 59.8 completion percentage. Jalen Hurts is waiting in the wings.
#23 Detroit Lions (1-2)
The Lions did beat Arizona thanks to three interceptions, giving Matt Patricia just his second comeback win in Detroit. The offense has too many drive stall, and the defense is still hit-and-miss.
#24 Miami Dolphins (1-2)
Miami’s been getting most of its offense from the passing game, but they need to get more balance in order to thrive down the stretch. They did look impressive in walloping Jacksonville last Thursday.
#25 Washington Football Team (1-2)
New coach Ron Rivera is already getting pressure to replace Dwayne Haskins at quarterback after three weeks.
#26 Atlanta Falcons (0-3)
Atlanta has blown two 15-point leads in the last two weeks. They still have to play Green Bay, Tampa Bay twice and New Orleans twice.
#27 Jacksonville Jaguars (1-2)
Opposing quarterbacks are completing 80 percent of their passes against Jacksonville, who beat Indianapolis in the opener and have gotten shelled by opposing offenses since.
#28 Denver Broncos (0-3)
The Broncos have permitted 13 sacks through three weeks, and they have already played three quarterbacks: Drew Lock, Jeff Driskel and Brett Rypien. They also have Blake Bortles, but what they need to focus on is pass protection.
#29 Carolina Panthers (1-2)
The Panthers miss way too many tackles. However, the offense can put points on the board right now, and the defense will improve.
#30 Cincinnati Bengals (0-2-1)
Joe Mixon is averaging just 54.7 yards on the ground per game. That needs to go up for the Bengals to have the balance they need to help Joe Burrow grow as a quarterback.
#31 N.Y. Giants (0-3)
The Giants have lost Saquon Barkley for the season due to an ACL tear, and the offense was already in trouble.
#32 N.Y. Jets (0-3)
The Jets are dead last in pass defense, and the lack of talent on that side of the ball is making it hard for Sam Darnold’s offense to remain competitive.
