At Xbet.ag you can explore the NFL Power Rankings, Odds and Analysis. As we near the end of June, most of the roster questions for the 32 NFL teams have been answered.
Injuries and other training camp surprises may lead to some changes, and pre-season game performances may give us some new names (remember when the Dallas Cowboys’ KaVontae Turpin returned a kickoff and a punt for touchdowns in the same preseason game against the Chargers a couple years ago?).
However, the big names are likely already in place. We have power rankings for you to consider as you start putting together your sports betting strategy for the 2024 season.
NFL Power Rankings for Week 1 Betting Analysis | NFL Odds
#1 Kansas City Chiefs
The two-time defending champions retooled their O-line and added some quality options at wide receiver in case Rashee Rice gets a lengthy suspension. No team has ever won three Super Bowls in a row, although the Green Bay Packers ended a three-season run as NFL champions by winning Super Bowls I and II in the last two of those campaigns.
So it is possible, but the league was a lot smaller then, and the NFL wasn’t nearly as focused on parity as it is today. But until someone knocks off the Chiefs, they are ranked at the top.
#2 San Francisco 49ers
The Brandon Aiyuk drama in San Francisco isn’t a good sign. He gives Brock Purdy an elite speed and possession target down the field, and along with George Kittle and Christian McCaffrey, Aiyuk makes a solid skill player trio around a proven quarterback.
#3 Detroit Lions
Remember halftime of the NFC Championship, when the Lions led the 49ers by 17 on the road? You can bet the entire Detroit defense remembers, and the front office went out and revamped that Swiss-cheese secondary.
#4 Baltimore Ravens
Are you tired of the Ravens refusing to give Lamar Jackson any real skill-player help? Well, the team went out and got bruiser Derrick Henry at tailback. The Ravens still don’t have an elite wide receiver, but this makes the running game even more dangerous.
#5 Philadelphia Eagles
Remember, the Iggles were 11-1 before that epic collapse down the stretch. They have two new coordinators and have possibly increased their upside at tailback by getting Saquon Barkley from the Giants.
#6 Cincinnati Bengals
Joe Burrow is healthy, and the Bengals have revamped the offensive line to protect him. They franchise tagged Tee Higgins, so he and Ja’Marr Chase are still there to run routes. The defense is still opportunistic. As long as Burrow is healthy, this team is a contender.
#7 Green Bay Packers
Jordan Love could be the real deal at quarterback. But is Josh Jacobs really an ideal replacement for Aaron Jones at tailback? A.J. Dillon is also a bruiser but lacked Jones’ speed last season. Then there’s that defense, which gave up a lead over the 49ers in the divisional round.
#8 Buffalo Bills
Can Josh Allen kick the habit of turning the ball over in key moments in must-win games? Can he build a new connection with his receivers after the team let Gabe Davis go in free agency and traded away Stefon Diggs? Can the defense replace Tre’Davious White?
#9 Houston Texans
The defending AFC South champions routed Cleveland in the wild-card round of the playoffs and added key contributors on both sides of the ball. They will repeat in their division; the only real questions here have to do with C.J. Stroud’s ability to deliver in crunch playoff time.
#10 Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Bucs closed out their 2023 regular season with five wins in six games, including a win at Lambeau Field and a home win over Jacksonville. They routed Philadelphia at home in the wild-card playoff round, 32-9, and went to Detroit for a divisional playoff and only lost by eight. Baker Mayfield found his stride, and if he can keep it, the Buccaneers will keep surprising teams.
#11 Miami Dolphins
Terrific skill play from Tua Tagovailoa, Jaylen Waddle and Tyreek Hill will ensure that the Dolphins score plenty of points. Their defense needs to keep showing up, even in the second half of the season.
#12 Cleveland Browns
Even if Deshaun Watson disappoints again, the Browns have Jameis Winston in the wings. The defense is still terrific, and if the Browns can get consistent quarterback play out of either of these two, they have an excellent chance at a wild-card berth and a one- or two-game playoff run.
#13 Pittsburgh Steelers
What? All four AFC South teams in the top 13? That’s what bringing Russell Wilson to town will do for you, especially when you have a head coach in Mike Tomlin who has never posted a losing record. Najee Harris is a solid tailback, so now the team just needs to get speed out of its wide receivers.
#14 L.A. Rams
The Rams had a surprisingly solid finish last year, but now Aaron Donald is gone. They do have Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua at wide receiver, but how much does Matthew Stafford have left in the tank, and who will carry the ball on running plays?
#15 L.A. Chargers
Yes, Jim Harbaugh led the San Francisco 49ers to a Super Bowl. However, Harbaugh wants to turn the Chargers into a run-first offense, despite having one of the five best quarterbacks in the NFL in Justin Herbert.
#16 Dallas Cowboys
CeeDee Lamb, Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons all need extensions, but Jerry Jones is playing the waiting game. The free-agency losses on defense will hurt. The lack of an NFL-caliber starting tailback will also hurt.
#17 Chicago Bears
This year’s franchise quarterback is USC’s Caleb Williams. Williams has a Heisman Trophy on the shelf and will have several high-caliber receivers running routes for him. The defense is still a work in progress, though.
#18 Indianapolis Colts
The Colts essentially have a rookie quarterback season coming up as Anthony Richardson only finished one game that he started in 2023 due to health issues. He has a cannon of an arm, but his aggressive running style is even more reckless than Josh Allen’s.
#19 Atlanta Falcons
So you sign Kirk Cousins to a huge contract and then draft Michael Penix Jr eighth overall, instead of using that pick to address another key skill position. Bijan Robinson is the real deal at tailback, but the Falcons still have lots of holes to fill.
#20 Jacksonville Jaguars
This team really isn’t in rebuild mode in terms of bringing in new key players – they just extended Trevor Lawrence, for example. Their mental approach needs a rebuild, though, after that late-season collapse.
#21 N.Y. Jets
Aaron Rodgers is back after missing all but a few plays at quarterback due to a torn Achilles tendon. The Jets have six prime-time games in their first 11, so we’ll know whether this rebuild really took hold. Can Rodgers, Breece Hall and the other rehabbed players all stay healthy?
#22 Denver Broncos
The latest quarterback rebuild involves Bo Nix out of Oregon. Hopefully he can win the starting job in training camp, because the season gets really long if he’s not learning the NFL game.
#23 Minnesota Vikings
Replacing Kirk Cousins with J.J. McCarthy seems like an odd choice, but this is also the team that thought Alexander Mattison was a starting tailback. They did get Justin Jefferson to stick around.
#24 Seattle Seahawks
Getting rid of Pete Carroll and believing in Geno Smith both seem to be poor decisions at this point, as the team just looked lost at key moments last year. Now Sam Howell, who couldn’t hold the starting quarterback job in Washington, is pushing Smith hard in minicamp.
#25 New Orleans Saints
Yes, the Saints brought in Derek Carr to revamp the offense. No, he didn’t leave the habit of mystifying interceptions in Las Vegas. How much help can the ageless Alvin Kamara and Michael Thomas still deliver?
#26 Las Vegas Raiders
Speaking of the Greatness, Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew are at the top of their quarterback depth chart. Was Jimmy G really that bad?
#27 Tennessee Titans
Can someone explain why this team fired Mike Vrabel after they dealt away A.J. Brown? Can someone explain why Tony Pollard is even an adequate replacement for Derrick Henry? Will Levis is set for a long season with the Titans.
#28 Washington Commanders
Why would you let Sam Howell leave before you know what you have in Jayden Daniels? It will be interesting to see what Dan Quinn can do in his second head-coaching stint, but there are a lot of holes in this roster.
#29 Kyler Murray
Is Kyler Murray a legitimate franchise quarterback, or is he a transcendental talent as a passer and runner – but simply unable to lead a team? We’ll learn this year.
#30 New England Patriots
This cupboard is absolutely bare in terms of quarterback. If the Patriots win more than four or five games, Jerod Mayo might deserve Coach of the Year honors.
#31 Carolina Panthers
This team might have a great quarterback in Bryce Young, but the front office hasn’t added help around him to let us know.
#32 New York Giants
Saquon Barkley is now down I-95 in Philadelphia, so the top tailback on the depth chart is…Devin Singletary. The quarterback room contains Daniel Jones, Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito. It’s hard to tell just what the Giants’ front office is doing right now.
