2023 NFL Preseason Betting Odds for Week 2 Losers

2023 NFL Preseason Betting Odds for Week 2 Losers

Even though he only played one quarter in the Indianapolis Colts’ preseason opener, rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson, taken fourth overall in the 2023 NFL draft, has been named the starting quarterback over journeyman Gardner Minshew. Richardson led the Florida Gators to a 6-7 record but then wowed scouts at the NFL combine with his combination of arm strength and accuracy. Richardson went 7 of 12 for 67 yards in one quarter, but the most impressive part of his play, according to coach Shane Steichen, was his composure after throwing a pick on his first drive. He led two more drives that pushed into Buffalo Bills territory. How will the Colts and the rest of the league’s teams thrive in Week 2? Check out some of our sports betting thoughts to consider in your NFL Preseason Odds.

When: Friday, August 18 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, N

The Giants are further down the road to rebuilding than the Panthers are, but how long will Brian Daboll risk leaving Saquon Barkley and Daniel Jones on the field? Will the Panthers give Bryce Young three quarters to lead the offense? Panthers to cover.

Cincinnati Bengals vs Atlanta Falcons

NFL Preseason Odds: Cincinnati Bengals (+6.5) at Atlanta Falcons
When: Friday, August 18 at 7:30 pm ET
Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, GA
TV / Streaming:

The Falcons need to see what Desmond Ridder and Bijan Robinson can do. The Bengals don’t need to risk the health of Joe Burrow. Falcons to win and cover.

NFL Preseason Odds | Jacksonville Jaguars vs Detroit Lions

NFL Preseason Bets: Jacksonville Jaguars (-4) at Detroit Lions
When: Saturday, August 19 at 1:00 pm ET
Where: Ford Field, Detroit, MI
TV / Streaming: NFL Network

We have two exciting teams on the rise here, but the Jaguars are more likely to leave Trevor Lawrence on the field past the first quarter than the Lions are with Jared Goff. However, that Lions’ defense makes this point spread seem large. Lions to cover.

Bet on the Jacksonville Jaguars vs Detroit Lions

Miami Dolphins vs Houston Texans

NFL Preseason Odds: Miami Dolphins (+3) at Houston Texans
When: Saturday, August 19 at 4:00 pm ET
Where: NRG Stadium, Houston, TX
TV / Streaming: NFL Network

Yes, Houston won last week, but that seemed more a lack of attentiveness by the New England Patriots. The Dolphins might play it safe with Tua, but he needs to lead several series to show the rust is gone. Dolphins to cover.

Bet on the Miami Dolphins vs Houston Texans

Buffalo Bills vs Pittsburgh Steelers

NFL Preseason Odds: Buffalo Bills (+2.5) at Pittsburgh Steelers
When: Saturday, August 19 at 6:30 pm ET
Where: Acrisure Stadium, Pittsburgh, PA

The Bills have a more complete roster – and they also have a chip on their shoulder after crashing out of the playoffs early…again. Bills to cover.

Chicago Bears vs Indianapolis Colts

NFL Preseason Odds: Chicago Bears (+3.5) at Indianapolis Colts
When: Saturday, August 19 at 7:00 pm ET
Where: MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ

What will Anthony Richardson accomplish in a full half – or even more – of action? With the team around him, he should get more done than Justin Fields will. Colts to win and cover.

Bet on the Chicago Bears vs Indianapolis Colts

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs New York Jets

NFL Preseason Odds: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+2) at N.Y. Jets
When: Saturday, August 19 at 7:30 pm ET

New England Patriots vs Green Bay Packers

NFL Preseason Odds: New England Patriots (+3) at Green Bay Packers
When: Saturday, August 19 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: Lambeau Field, Green Bay, WI
TV / Streaming:

Will we see Ezekiel Elliott lean and fast after a summer working out to prove the Dallas Cowboys wrong? Or will he disappoint Patriots fans? I’d bet on Aaron Jones to have more yards by halftime. Packers to win and cover.

Bet on the New England Patriots vs Green Bay Packers

NFL Preseason Odds | Tennessee Titans vs Minnesota Vikings

NFL Preseason Odds: Tennessee Titans (-2) at Minnesota Vikings
When: Saturday, August 19 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: U.S. Bank Stadium, Minneapolis, MN
TV / Streaming:

Yes, the Vikings won the NFC North last year, but then they lost at home to a Giants team that didn’t come close to beating them on paper. That hangover will cling to the Vikings when the Titans show up. Titans to win and cover.

Bet on the Tennessee Titans vs Minnesota Vikings

Kansas City Chiefs vs Arizona Cardinals

NFL Preseason Odds: Kansas City Chiefs (-7.5) at Arizona Cardinals
When: Saturday, August 19 at 8:00 pm ET
Where: State Farm Stadium, Glendale, A
TV / Streaming:

I don’t know how long the Chiefs will leave the first-team offense on the field, given that the Cardinals won’t have Kyler Murray and this could become a laugher early. I don’t bet heavy on games that are filled with backups, but if you want to pick a side, the Chiefs should win this one in a rout. Chiefs to win and cover.

Bet on the Kansas City Chiefs vs Arizona Cardinals

NFL Preseason Odds | Denver Broncos vs San Francisco 49ers

NFL Preseason Odds: Denver Broncos (-4) at San Francisco 49ers
When: Saturday, August 19 at 8:30 pm ET

Russell Wilson vs Trey Lance? Not a chance for the 49ers. Broncos to win and cover.

Bet on the Denver Broncos vs San Francisco 49ers

Las Vegas Raiders vs Los Angeles Rams

NFL Preseason Odds: Las Vegas Raiders (-3.5) at L.A. Rams
When: Saturday, August 19 at 9:00 pm ET
Where: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA
TV / Streaming:

I’m a lot more excited about the second year of Josh McDaniels’ transformation of the Raiders than I am about the second year of Sean McVay’s rebuild of the Rams. Raiders to win and cover.

Bet on the Las Vegas Raiders vs L.A. Rams

Dallas Cowboys vs Seattle Seahawks

NFL Preseason Odds: Dallas Cowboys (+7) at Seattle Seahawks
When: Saturday, August 19 at 10:00 pm ET
Where: Lumen Field, Seattle, WA
TV / Streaming: NFL Network

This is a huge point spread given that the Seahawks have Geno Smith and Drew Lock at quarterback. The Cowboys have KaVontae Turpin as an elite returner, and they have solid players on all three defensive levels. Cowboys to cover.

Bet on the Dallas Cowboys vs Seattle Seahawks

NFL Preseason Odds | New Orleans Saints vs L.A. Chargers

NFL Preseason Bets: New Orleans Saints (-3) at L.A. Chargers
When: Sunday, August 20 at 7:05 pm ET
Where: SoFi Stadium, Inglewood, CA
TV / Streaming: NFL Network

Derek Carr vs Justin Herbert takes us back to the AFC West showdowns from the past few seasons, and while both quarterbacks have their issues, I like the tenacity of the Saints’ defense and their balance on offense. Saints to win and cover.

Bet on the New Orleans Saints vs L.A. Chargers

NFL Preseason Odds | Baltimore Ravens vs Washington Commanders

NFL Preseason Bets: Baltimore Ravens (-3.5) at Washington Commanders
When: Monday, August 21 at 8:00 pm ET

Baltimore is not going to have their 24-game preseason winning streak ended by the likes of Sam Howell. Ravens to win and cover.
