Seahawks at Bears Predictions | Remember when the Chicago Bears had a 4-2 record earlier this season? That seems like a distant memory as the Bears have gone into an extended skid and now sit at 4-11 after a 34-17 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
However, you wouldn’t know that the Bears have been in such straits if you look at the play of rookie quarterback Caleb Williams.
Against the Lions, the Bears had absolutely nothing to play for, but he still threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns, posting a 107.5 passer rating.
Three of his starting O-linemen were on the shelf with injuries, and Williams is playing under his second head coach and offensive coordinator of the 2024 season.
He now has 3,271 passing yards with two games remaining, the sixth-highest mark in franchise history. He has four 300+ yard passing games, tying the team record.
Not only that, but he hasn’t thrown a pick since October 13 and owns the rookie record for attempts without a pick with 326.
He only needs 77 more to break Aaron Rodgers’ all-time mark of 402. Next up for the Bears comes a visit from the Seattle Seahawks on a short week.

The Chicago defense hasn’t been awful this season. They only allowed 18 points in the loss at Washington, 19 points in the loss to New England, 20 points in the loss to Green Bay, and 23 in the loss at Detroit.
However, in their last three games, the floodgates have opened a bit as the team has permitted 38, 30, and 34 points over the last three weeks – losses to San Francisco, Minnesota and Detroit. Seattle has playmakers in the running and the receiving games and could put up some big numbers – although the offense tends to regress somewhat on the short weeks.
The Seahawks have more to play for and looked impressive despite falling short against Minnesota. I like the Seahawks to win, 20-16.
^Seattle Seahawks Analysis
The Seahawks are just 8-7 on the season, but they are 5-1 on the road. If they want to get into the postseason, they most likely must win the NFC West, as catching Washington for the last wild-card spot is virtually impossible.
The Seahawks are just a game behind the Rams in the division, but based on existing tiebreakers, Seattle needs to beat the Rams in Week 18 and also needs the Cardinals to beat the Rams next week. Before any of that matters, though, the Seahawks need to take care of business in Chicago.
The problem for Seattle in their loss to Minnesota last week. The Seahawks pushed the Vikings hard, trading scores all game, but they just couldn’t get stops, and they just made too many mistakes to beat a 12-win team. Tre Brown took a sack off the board in the first half by lining up in the neutral zone on a key third-down play. On the next play, Brown was torched for a touchdown.
Then there’s the enigmatic Geno Smith – he threw three touchdown passes and led the Seahawks on five scoring drives. However, he also threw three interceptions and now has 16 on the season, and two more errant throws could easily have turned into picks. Ball security will have to improve against the Bears.
^Chicago Bears Analysis
As we mentioned above, Williams has no shortage of confidence despite this awful season. He threw a 45-yard touchdown pass to Keenan Allen, the longest scoring strike of his career. He is also growing in terms of having the patience to wait for receivers to get open, with at least 10 completions to receivers split out wide in three of his past four games.
Between Week 1 and 12, he only did that in one game. That means that he’s waiting for the offense to develop instead of dumping off to check-down receivers or hurrying balls over the middle. Keenan Allen also impressed this week by getting more than 100 passing yards (141, in fact) for the first time in 2024. He had 13 targets, the fifth game when he had double digits in that stat. The bomb from Williams was also his longest career scoring catch.
