Another week has gone by in the 2020 NFL season, which means more surprises. A few more teams have had COVID-19 cases pop up, so the schedules of the Dolphins, Jets and Chargers have had some reshuffling. Speaking of the Chargers, they led New Orleans 20-3 in the second quarter (before the Saints came roaring back to tie) and had a chance to make a game-winning field goal at the end of regulation, only to see the ball bounce off the upright…and to see the Saints win in overtime. Dallas lost quarterback Dak Prescott for the season with a compound fracture in his ankle, but backup Andy Dalton (remember him?) led the Cowboys to a win over the Giants all the same.

Bye Week: Las Vegas Raiders, New Orleans Saints, L.A. Chargers, Seattle Seahawks
Early Games
Houston (+5.5) at Tennessee
Sunday, October 18
1:00 PM EST
CBS
The Jacksonville Jaguars were the first team that Houston beat this season, after the team fired head coach and GM Bill O’Brien. Will that turn into a streak? The Titans have covered just five time in their last 18 games against the Texans — but three out of four times at home.

Cincinnati (+9.5) at Indianapolis
Sunday, October 18
1:00 PM EST
FOX
Cincinnati has lost 16 consecutive road games. However, they’ve covered in 10 of those games, which means they’re playing teams close. The Colts lost to Cleveland this past week and should be ready to take out some frustrations, but can Philip Rivers stop throwing interceptions?

Atlanta (+3.5) at Minnesota
Sunday, October 18
1:00 PM EST
FOX
Minnesota looked like they were going to win at Seattle last week — but then they coughed up a chance to go up eight by going for it on fourth down well within field goal range, and Seattle held…and drove down for the win. Now they welcome a winless Atlanta team that just fired their head coach. The Vikings have gone 4-0 against Atlanta under Mike Zimmer, and I see that becoming five.
Vikings to win. | Bet on the Game Now!
Denver (+8) at New England
Sunday, October 18
1:00 PM EST
CBS
I’d wait to put down money on this game until Cam Newton’s status is set, because there’s a big difference between having him run the offense and having Jarrett Stidham or Brian Hoyer run it. Denver has gone 3-5 in their last eight road games straight up, but no matter who the quarterback is, the Patriots’ defense will be ready.
Patriots to win. | Bet on the Game Now!
Washington (+3.5) at N.Y. Giants
Sunday, October 18
1:00 PM EST
FOX
Let’s see. The Giants just put up 34 on Dallas, and they have won four out of five against Dallas. So even though Washington has a win and New York doesn’t, the Giants are favored. Washington is going with Kyle Allen at quarterback again.
Giants to win. | Bet on the Game Now!
Baltimore (-7) at Philadelphia
Sunday, October 18
1:00 PM EST
CBS
The Eagles have a lot of injuries, and they have a case of the yips at quarterback. Baltimore should roll easily.
Ravens to win. | Bet on the Game Now!
Cleveland (+4.5) at Pittsburgh
Sunday, October 18
1:00 PM EST
CBS
Pittsburgh has won 16 of the last 20 games (as well as a tie) against Cleveland. Under Mike Tomlin, the Steelers have gone 13-0 straight up against the Browns. The only time Cleveland has won at Heinz Field is in 2003. However, the Browns have a much more dynamic offense than they have had in years past. I see Cleveland pulling off another upset.
Browns to win. | Bet on the Game Now!
Chicago (+2.5) at Carolina
Sunday, October 18
1:00 PM EST
FOX
Few teams are improving as quickly as the Carolina Panthers, who were 0-2 and now have won three in a row. However, the Bears are 4-1 straight up in their last five road games — and Carolina is just 3-10 straight up at home in their last 13. The Bears were able to surprise Tampa Bay last week, but I don’t see them doing that two weeks in a row. New coach, new trends for the Panthers.
Bears to win. | Bet on the Game Now!
Detroit (-3) at Jacksonville
Sunday, October 18
1:00 PM EST
FOX
Jacksonville has gone 4-24 straight up against NFC teams since the start of 2013, but Detroit is just 2-13 straight up overall in their last 15 games. I’m not sure why the Lions are favored here.
Jaguars to win. | Bet on the Game Now!
Late Games
N.Y. Jets (NL) at Miami
Sunday, October 18
4:05 PM EST
CBS
This game was moved up from Week 9 because of COVID-19 rescheduling elsewhere on the schedule. Miami has covered in six of their last eight against the Jets — and the Jets are 3-12 straight up in their last 15 games away from MetLife Stadium. Also, Miami comes in off a shellacking of San Francisco last week.
Dolphins to win. | Bet on the Game Now!
Green Bay (-1.5) at Tampa Bay
Sunday, October 18
4:25 PM EST
FOX
Green Bay is 17-3 in their last 20 games straight up, while Tampa Bay is still figuring things out in the Tom Brady era. Brady will face Aaron Rodgers for just the third time ever. They’ve split the first two matchups. Green Bay seems to have their operation about a season’s worth of growth ahead of Tampa Bay.
Packers to win. | Bet on the Game Now!
L.A. Rams (-3) at San Francisco
Sunday Night Football
Sunday, October 18
8:20 pm ET
NBC
The 49ers have gone 4-1 straight up in their last five games as an underdog. San Francisco swept the season series last year. However, San Francisco is 0-3 at home this season, and while Jimmy Garoppolo is healthy again, his performance against Miami showed that he may not be ready.
Rams to win. | Bet on the Game Now!
Kansas City (-3.5) at Buffalo
Monday Night Football
Monday, October 19
5:00 pm ET
FOX/NFL Network
The Chiefs lost to Las Vegas at home in Week 5, and October just isn’t their month. Since the start of 2018, they are just 2-4 straight up in this month of the year. If the Chiefs haven’t figured out their defensive woes, Josh Allen will light them up.
Chiefs to win. | Bet on the Game Now!
Arizona (-3) at Dallas
Monday Night Football
Monday, October 19
8:15 pm ET
ESPN
Dallas has won four straight as a home underdog; they’ll have Andy Dalton at quarterback, making it the first week since the start of the 2016 campaign that Dak Prescott was not the starter under center. Arizona ended a two-game losing streak last week and should score at will on a porous Dallas defense.
Cardinals to win. | Bet on the Game Now!
