When it comes to NFL betting, why limit yourself to the usual wagers – point spread, point total, and moneyline? Why not wager on some of the other bets that are also available? After all, you can make this game even more interesting than the matchup between the Bengals and the Rams if you have wagers hanging on individual performances in terms of yardage, the halftime show and even some of the commercials. Take a look at some of the more promising options that await you.
NFL News: Special Super Bowl Prop Bets
Pick Cooper Kupp to Win the MVP
Sure, the quarterbacks have better odds. However, right now, the talented Rams superstar has the third best odds, ranging from +500 to +600. He has been Matthew Stafford’s top target in the Rams’ offense and has put up lots of big plays in the postseason. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Kupp and Stafford collaborate on two or three long scoring plays against the Bengals.
If you’re looking for some other high-value MVP choices, think about Cincinnati’s Ja’Marr Chase (+1600 to +1800). He’s been just as busy with the Bengals’ offense as Kupp has been with the Rams’, but coming from the smaller market, he hasn’t gotten as much coverage yet – so he comes with more value. If you’re thinking about a defensive dark horse, consider Aaron Donald (+1200 to +1600), who could register a strip-sack or two at just the right time to help the Rams win the title – and snag an MVP trophy for himself.
Pick your Choice to Get the Game’s First Touchdown
This wager comes with plenty of value, as each offensive player has a moneyline of at least +500 here. Of course, you could end up choosing the wrong player, so research is important. Cooper Kupp sits right at +500 here too, but Ja’Marr Chase, Joe Mixon, Odell Beckham Jr and Cam Akers are all at +750 or even higher, and all of them have a great shot. Tee Higgins is at +1200 on some books, but he could get a lot of action if the Rams decide to blanket Ja’Marr Chase.
Take Kupp and Chase to Get at Least 125 Receiving Yards Apiece
This is a parlay, so both of them have to hit the number, but you can get odds as high as +1283, depending on the book. Kupp has hit this number seven times on the season, while Chase has made it four. Chase didn’t hit 125 yards since Week 17, though, as opposing defenses have made covering him a priority. He is likely to be covered by Jalen Ramsey this time – but Ramsey got burned for a big touchdown against the Buccaneers.
Kupp, on the other hand, has hit the 125-yard mark in the last two playoff games. These are both elite wide receivers who can get yards in bunches, and with the value, it’s certainly something to think about.
Could Sony Michel Lead the Super Bowl in Rushing?
Cam Akers is the starter, but he hasn’t run for over 55 yards since he returned. In the last five games with Michel as the starter, he broke the 100-yard barrier twice and ran for at least 74 yards in each game. Michel had 58 yards to just 55 for Akers in the wild card game despite having four fewer carries. If the Rams need to be able to pound the ball on the ground, they might try to ride Michel. Of course, the Bengals could counter this, as they have one of the top defenses against the running game, fifth overall.
The Rams had the sixth best rushing defense in the NFL, and they have not permitted any team to run for more than 61 yards in the playoffs. It’s worth pointing out that they jumped out to big leads over Arizona and Tampa Bay, forcing those teams to go to the passing game. The Bengals have permitted more than 100 rushing yards in each game, but none of their games have seen them build the sort of lead that would force an opponent to the passing game. Michel’s value to have the most rushing yards is as high as +1100, depending on the book. That’s a pretty good value if you want to put a small wager down.
