The National Football League is less than 4 weeks away from starting for good. At that point, it will be the end of the exhibition games, and the real games will start. Every year we find teams that are contenders to win the whole thing, and we have our share of pretenders. Let’s take a stab at Predicting 3 NFL Playoff Pretenders and 3 Playoff Contenders for the 2016 season. Also, check out for more NFL odds by clicking here.

Here Are the Top 2016 NFL Playoffs Pretenders and Contenders

The Seattle Seahawks are a playoff contender in the 2016 season. The Seahawks have been to the postseason the past three seasons, won the NFC twice, and even took a Super Bowl during that time. Pete Carroll is still there, and his offense keeps improving. We know how good the Seattle defenses has been, and will be, but the offense is the question mark. Look for the Seattle Seahawks, who are the odds on favorite to get back to the postseason, to do just that. The Seattle Seahawks are given a 72% chance of reaching the postseason, and they will do so. The Green Bay Packers are another team out of the NFC that we will throw in the 3 contenders to get to the NFL playoffs. The Packers are hoping to get Jordy Nelson back, which gives Aaron Rodgers even more ammo to throw to. The Packers will roll the Vikings this season, as they are irritated that they did not win the division a season ago. Green Bay is listed at 64.8% odds to get to the postseason, and they are one of our 3 contenders. The Indianapolis Colts are the final team we are going to throw into one of the 3 contenders to reach the NFL postseason. The Indianapolis Colts did a great task in signing Andrew Luck, and giving him some freedom of mind. The Colts offense is going to be much better, especially if they can keep Luck from his back. Indianapolis will see a division that is not ready to compete, especially with a quarterback change in Houston. The Colts are 38.9% to get to the postseason, and that they will do. Now, turning to the 3 pretenders to reach the postseason in the National Football League. We are going to start with a team that continues to get back to the postseason, but this is the year the streak is snapped, and unfortunately means the end of Marvin Lewis as head coach. The Cincinnati Bengals are one of our three pretenders to get to the postseason. Asking too much for too long of Andy Dalton. Also, remember, the AFC North is going to be tough. The Cincinnati Bengals have a 40.9% chance to make it, and we are placing them in the no category. The Denver Broncos are another pretender for this season. That’s hard to do, as the defending champion, but the most important position is the quarterback. We do not trust what the Broncos are doing at quarterback, and it will backfire. The Broncos are listed with a 37% chance of getting back to the postseason, and we are selling that, and placing them as one of our 3 pretenders for the 2016 season. The final team we will place in the pretenders category is the Minnesota Vikings. Look for things to fall flat in this game. The Vikings still have Adrian Peterson, but outside of that, what’s in it for the offense in Minnesota? The defense is good, but not an elite defense that can get the team back to the postseason. We are placing the Minnesota Vikings in one of our 3 pretenders to the NFL postseason. Have at it! Those are our 3 pretenders and contenders to reach the postseason in 2016 out of the National Football League!
