Top Games to Watch in College Football Week 15

Written by on December 10, 2020

The last week of the 2020 college football regular season is upon us. The conference championships will take place on December 19, along with the Tropical Smoothie Bowl from Frisco, Texas, but this week features the last set of games for many teams. Boston College is the first of many teams that are expected to opt out of the travel and hassle associated with a bowl game during the COVID-19 pandemic. Several of the top games for Week 15 have already been canceled due to COVID-19 spread, such as Michigan-Ohio State and Oklahoma-West Virginia.

Even so, there are still some good matchups for college football betting fans as well as the rest of the college football enthusiasts out there. Take a look at our best games to watch.

NCAA News: Top Games to Watch in Week 15

Alabama (-31) at Arkansas (12:00 pm ET)

Alabama has already clinched the SEC West and holds the top ranking in the College Football Playoff standings. Even a loss to Florida in the SEC Championship would still not eliminate the Crimson Tide from the playoff at this point. The Tide visit an Arkansas team that has found its spine, on both sides of the ball, and has in particular improved on defense after the departure of Chad Morris. I wouldn’t say this is a trap game, by any means, but will Alabama really have the passion to win by more than 31 points? I’m liking Arkansas to cover.

Army (-7) vs Navy (3:00 pm ET)

One of the great rivalry games, Army-Navy usually takes place on its own weekend, but the delay of the start to the regular season made this one matchup among many. Usually, the game is held in Philadelphia, but this year it will take place at Michie Stadium, at the West Point campus of Army. This will be the first time the game is taking place at one of the service academies since 1945. Navy has struggled mightily this year, and while Army has not been dominant by any means, they should be able to control this game. I like Army to win and cover.

Miami (FL) (-3) vs North Carolina (3:30 pm ET)

The winner of this game will probably get one of the top bowl destinations for an ACC team, because Notre Dame and Clemson, the conference’s top two teams from the regular season, both have a good shot to end up in the College Football Playoff. Both teams can put up points in bunches, so the team that can get the stops is the one that will win the game. I like North Carolina to cover.

Iowa (+1) vs Wisconsin (3:30 pm ET)

Iowa has won five in a row, four coming in double-digit fashion. Even so, the Hawkeyes are the underdog at home to a Wisconsin team that has scored 13 points combined in their last two games, losses to Indiana and Northwestern. This is one of those point spreads that seems way out of balance, so grab Iowa to cover.

Florida (-23) vs LSU (7:00 pm ET)

LSU has already declared that they won’t go to a bowl game this year as part of a self-imposed ban to avoid further NCAA sanctions. That’s probably a good decision, because the Tigers wouldn’t have gone to anything approaching a top-shelf bowl, even with all FBS teams eligible this year, and they would likely have lost against just about any competition, given their woes on both offense and defense. Florida comes in already having clinched a slot in the SEC Championship. With Kyle Trask, Kadarius Toney and Kyle Pitts, Florida has the offense to make this another very long day for the LSU defense. Florida to win and cover.
