Week 8 of the 2020 NFL regular season is upon us — which means we’re almost halfway through the entire season. If you thought that the Pittsburgh Steelers would be the last unbeaten team in the league, then you had a better eye on the return of Big Ben than we did. If you thought that the first-place team in the NFC East team would have just two wins through seven games, then your crystal ball was also better than ours. Dallas Cowboys legend Michael Irvin bemoaned the state of his former team this week, calling the Cowboys the worst team in the NFL through seven weeks, and things don’t look promising, with Dallas prepared to start their third-string quarterback on the road against the Eagles on Sunday night.

NFL News: Top Betting Games for This Weekend
Pittsburgh (+3.5) at Baltimore
Lamar Jackson uses his elusiveness to frustrate opposing pass rushes. Pittsburgh has blitzed 46 percent of the time in 2020, the highest rate under Mike Tomlin (who’s been the coach since 2007). When they send more than four pass rushers, they have 17 sacks, the top number in the league in blitz packages. However, Jackson is wily, and in games in which he has rushed for 70 or more yards since the start of 2019, the Ravens are 10-1. Here’s an interesting bit of information: Six teams in the Super Bowl era have come into a game with a record of 6-0 or better and still been the underdog. All six of those teams lost the game, and only two of them covered. I like the Steelers so far this year, but I’m taking Baltimore to win and cover. | Bet on the Game Now!
L.A. Rams (-3.5) at Miami
Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa makes his first start as a pro quarterback and will face his first game-speed contact in almost a year, since he suffered that hip injury at Alabama. Across the ball from him will be Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald. Tagovailoa will need to get rid of the ball in a hurry without making ball security mistakes against an opportunistic Rams defense. I see Donald threatening his own career high for sacks in a game (4). The Miami O-line is young, and the Rams are third in the league as a team with 24 sacks (Donald has eight). The Miami O-line’s pass block win rate is just 47.5%, which is 30th out of the 32 NFL teams. Rams to win and cover. | Bet on the Game Now!
Las Vegas (+2.5) at Cleveland
Cleveland is down a big wide receiver in Odell Beckham Jr, who was one of the latest additions to the NFL’s growing list of players with torn ACL’s. Beckham is tops on the Browns in targets, so Baker Mayfield will now have to look elsewhere. The Browns have a terrific pass rusher in Myles Garrett, who has sacks in six straight games and nine on the season. Kareem Hunt has done nicely in relief of Nick Chubb, scoring seven touchdowns. On the Las Vegas side of the ledger, Cleveland’s safeties do not cover well, as we saw in that epic back-and-forth between the Browns and the Bengals last week. Even so, I like Cleveland to win and cover. | Bet on the Game Now!
Tennessee (-5.5) at Cincinnati
The point total on this game is 52 ½, and I like the “over” on that more than I like picking against the spread. Here’s why. Tennessee is tied for 16th in points permitted per game, and the Bengals are 21st. If you watched that Cleveland-Cincinnati game last week, you knew that the last team with the ball would win, because neither defense was interested in getting stops. For the Titans, quarterback Ryan Tannehill, tailback Derrick Henry and wide receiver A.J. Brown are all having strong seasons, and they should all have room to operate against the Bengals. An interesting question is how Cincinnati quarterback Joe Burrow will do against the Titans. Against the Browns, Burrow has six touchdown passes in two games. In the other five matchups, he has only thrown three combined. | Bet on the Game Now!
