Top NFL Week 6 ATS Picks

Yeah, that’s right… Tom Brady is back and he is making up for lost time in big way; Odell Beckham Jr. finally scored his first touchdown of the season but the Giants were still slain by the not-that- good Packers; the Panthers were upended AT HOME by the Buccaneers; and Collin Kaepernick—he of the afro and taking one knee when the national anthem is playing—will be starting at quarterback for the 49ers this coming weekend against the Bills. Quite a befitting backdrop for us to present our top NFL betting ATS picks for a wild slate of Week 6 games, don’t you think so? Yeah, that’s right! Okay, here we go…

Top NFL Week 6 ATS Picks

San Francisco 49ers at Buffalo Bills

NFL Week 6 ATS Pick: San Francisco (+8) The Bills have been on an absolute tear, winning three straight games and improving to 3-2 SU and ATS after a 0-2 SU and ATS start to the season. With both the Buffalo offense and defense clicking, the Bills will definitely be a handful to the Niners. Even so, Colin Kaepernick’s return to a starting role could easily spark some new life in Chip Kelly’s fast-paced offense, given his potential to pass and run the ball efficiently. Last we saw Kaep start a game in Week 8 of the 2015 season, his game left a lot to be desired. But after sitting out in the cold and bidding for a chance to impress if he’s back on the starting line-up, we are willing to give him the benefit of doubt to at least give a performance that is strong enough to earn the points to San Francisco this weekend.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Miami Dolphins

NFL Week 6 ATS Pick: Pittsburgh (-7) This one is a no-brainer. Miami’s running defense is the worst in the league (150.8 rushing yards allowed per game), so Le’Veon Bell and his crew should have a field day running circles around the Fins. Meanwhile, Miami’s best corner this season in rookie CB Xavien Howard is nursing a knee injury that is expected to sideline him from Sunday’s game. That leaves Byron Maxwell and Tony Lippett with the impossible job of trying to slow down the unstoppable combination of Sammie Coates and Antonio Brown. And as you all know, Ryan Tannehill is a poor quarterback, meaning Pittsburgh’s O-line should get to him and frustrate him all day. And did we mention that Ben Roethlisberger has settled into the season– since getting rattled in that game against the Eagles in Week 3– by throwing for 9 combined touchdowns in his last two outings, and doing so against two top defenses in Kansas City and New York Jets? Well, there’s that too. So, yeah, you have all the reasons to bank heavy on the Steelers here because they will most likely be running a riot on Sunday.

Carolina Panthers at New Orleans Saints

NFL Week 6 ATS Pick: Carolina (-3) Maybe I still have a bit of hangover from watching Cam Newton put up those dazzling numbers in 2015 and lead his team to Super Bowl 50, but in my head I am convinced that the Panthers will somehow wake up from their slumber and turn their season around, starting this weekend. The presence of Drew Brees guarantees big-time production in New Orleans’ offense, especially in the passing game, but the Saints still have an anemic defense that also a guarantees big plays and yardages from Carolina. And in a shootout-out between the Newton-led Panthers and the Brees-led Saints, I’ll go with the Panthers anytime, as Carolina has a better defense than New Orleans. In addition, Carolina can switch between running and passing the ball, while the Saints are pretty much useless when Brees isn’t able to do it all in the air. Oh, and the Panthers have won three straight over the Saints by 3-or- more points.

Atlanta Falcons at Seattle Seahawks

NFL Week 6 ATS Pick: Atlanta (+6.5) The Falcons aced the test against the then-undefeated Denver, with Matt Ryan a.k.a Matty Ice melting down the Broncos with his defense ice-cool poise under the center, linking with his receivers (Julio Jones et al.) and explosive running backs admirably. Seattle, meanwhile, was on a much-needed bye and Russell Wilson should be back healthy and ready to do big things. The problem, unfortunately, is that the Seahawks have been far from consistent and efficient, especially when playing against big opponents. How the Seahawks are favored by as many as seven points against the Falcons after what we’ve seen from Atlanta recently is still a big mystery to me. No way on earth will the Seattle beat Atlanta by as many as seven points. In fact, if you ask me, I wouldn’t be surprised if the red-hot Falcons offense delivers a big game to make up for the team’s defensive issues, leading to an outright upset over the overrated Seahawks. Other NFL Week 6 ATS Leans: Cleveland (+7) at Tennessee, Detroit (-3) vs. Los Angeles, Chicago (-2.5) vs. Jacksonville, Kansas City (+1) at Oakland, Dallas (+4.5) at Green Bay
