Top NFL Week 9 SU Picks

Jacksonville at Kansas City, Sunday, November 6

NFL Week 10 SU Pick: Kansas City Blake Bortles is a big-potential passer, but his production often comes late in games when the game is out of reach. And to make matters even worse for the Jags, the Chiefs have one of the best defenses in the nation (19.6 PPG allowed), so Bortles and his teammates will be hard done in their quest to upset Kansas City. And as far as Kansas City’s offense is concerned, Nick Foles proved to be clutch when starting QB Alex Smith got injured against Indy last week, completing 16 of 22 passes for 223 yards and two touchdowns.to help the Chiefs to a 30-14 victory over the Colts. With or without Smith, KC should therefore be good for the win here.

Dallas at Cleveland, Sunday, November 6

NFL Week 10 SU Pick: Dallas This one really is no-brainer. The Browns are NFL’s best bet-against team this season, having gone winless on the season. On the flipside, Dak Prescott and the Cowboys haven’t lost since Week 1 and continue to show that they mean business by approaching all games with a winning mentality and taking all opponents seriously. So, while Josh McCown will most likely have a decent game and help the Browns to a good number of points; the win will most likely go to the Cowboys, thanks largely to the porousness of Cleveland’s D and the clutch nature of Dallas’ offense, led by the two All-Star rookies in Prescott and Ezekiel Elliot plus a healthy Dez Bryant wreaking havoc in the passing game.

Pittsburgh at Baltimore, Sunday, November 6

NFL Week 10 SU Pick: Pittsburgh The Steelers have been really inconsistent this season, particularly when playing on the road where they’ve suffered unexpected losses to the likes Miami and Philadelphia. But then again, the Ravens haven’t been playing any better, having lost their last four straight games and failed to cover the spread in their last five straight outings, with the Joe Flacco-led offense particularly  struggling a lot during that winless run. More notably, Pittsburgh QB Ben Roethlisberger returned to practice on Monday and could be available for Sunday’s trip to Baltimore, something that could easily better the Steelers’ chances of winning this game. But even if Big Ben doesn’t suit up on Sunday, backup Landry Jones—who fared decently in the loss to New England—should be more than capable of holding his own against Baltimore’s questionable defense, more so if he can get support from Le’Veon Bell and Co. in running the ball.

Carolina at Los Angeles, Sunday, November 6

NFL Week 10 SU Pick: Carolina Cam Newton and the Panthers finally snapped their funk by beating the Cardinals last week to improve to 2-6 on the season. There is, however, a lot that still needs to be cleaned, especially in regards to protecting Newton and his offense and playing better in the D-line. Fortunately for the visiting Panthers, the Rams have been going it rather easy against opposing QBs and Los Angeles signal-caller Case Keenum has been wildly erratic under the center this season. If the Panthers can play nearly like they did against Arizona last week, getting a win over the disarrayed Rams won’t be much of a problem for them this Sunday.

Buffalo at Seattle, Monday, November 7

NFL Week 10 SU Pick: Seattle Both the Bills and Seahawks are coming off devastating losses in their previous games, so bouncing back on the winning column will be a key agenda for both teams. And, if both teams were at full strength, I would have said that the game could go either way, depending on who shows up best for it, The problem, however, is that the Bills are dealing with too many injury concerns, which evidently contributed to their blowout loss to New England last week and is likely to affect their performance once again against the healthier Seahawks this week. Oh, and Seattle will also have the added advantage of playing at CenturyLink Field, a place they’ve recently dominated opponents to the tune of 6-1 in their last 7 home games. Hard not to like Seattle for the near-sure victory here.
