Washington at Dallas NFL Lines & Week 13 Prediction for TNF

Written by on November 28, 2017

Washington comes to Dallas having knocked off the New York Giants last week (and giving themselves a faint hope for one of the NFC’s wild card spots in the playoffs) but having lost tailback Chris Thompson to a broken leg. Dallas has lost three games in a row and has not scored more than nine points in any of those defeats, losing in Atlanta and then falling at home to Philadelphia and the L.A. Chargers on Thanksgiving Day. Both teams need this win if they want any shot at the postseason. Take a look at our thoughts on this NFL lines matchup as you put together your football wagers for this coming weekend’s action.

Washington at Dallas NFL Lines & Week 13 Prediction for TNF

When: Thursday, November 30, 2017, 8:25pm ET Where: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX TV: NBC Radio: WTEM 980 AM (Washington) / 105.3 FM (Dallas) Live Stream: NFL Live NFL Lines: Washington (+2)

Why should you bet on the Redskins?

Washington will need to get a big game out of tailback Semaje Perine — like the one he gave them last week, when he picked up 100 yards against the Giants, much of it coming after Thompson’s injury. They already have a gifted quarterback in Kirk Cousins, who found Jamison Crowder for a key touchdown in third quarter. He did throw a pick-six to Janoris Jenkins, but that was just Cousins’ sixth pick of the season against 19 touchdown passes. The Redskins rank #11 in passing yards per game (251.7), and if the Cowboys (who plan to shuffle their starting secondary) can’t cover more effectively than they have been, the Redskins could torch them. On defense, the Redskins do tend to give up a lot. They rank #25 in the NFL in points permitted per game, but they’re playing a Dallas team that has scored 22 points in their last three games combined. Quarterback Dak Prescott had a fumble and two interceptions against the Chargers last week, as the increased pressure he is seeing has influenced his ability to hold onto the ball and manage games. If the Redskins can mount pressure, they should see similar results.

Why should you put your money on the Cowboys?

The most worrisome sign for Dallas fans actually came a week ago Sunday, as it looked like Dallas just gave up on both sides of the ball. Against the Chargers, the offense still looked like they weren’t ready to play. Alfred Morris broke through with a couple of decent runs, but the team only gained 79 yards on the ground, 20 attempts. Dak Prescott only threw the ball for 168 yards, and the lack of time he has in the pocket is keeping him from stepping into his throws, which means that a lot of his balls are short — and some of them are landing in defenders’ hands. Then there’s the Dallas defense. That vaunted defensive line (DeMarcus Lawrence still leads the NFL in sacks despite largely vanishing in the last three weeks) isn’t stopping the run or pressuring the passer, linebackers aren’t filling gaps, and defensive backs aren’t covering. Phillip Rivers went 27 for 33 for 434 yards against Dallas on Thanksgiving. Cousins could put up similar numbers, unless the Cowboys decide to play defense this week. Given how listless they looked in the second half against the Eagles and through the entire Chargers game, it’s hard to argue that you should pick them.

Expert NFL Lines Pick and Final Score Prediction

This Cowboys team is starting to look a lot like the bunch that got Wade Phillips fired. They lack energy on the field, and the lack of in-game adjustments is causing them to take embarrassing losses as their opponents are making changes after halftime to salt away wins. I’m predicting a final score of Washington 27, Dallas 16. Given that this will be the fourth consecutive embarrassing loss on national television, I also predict that Jerry Jones’ positive words about head coach Jason Garrett will come to an end.
