NFL Week 1 Parlay Picks

NFL Week 1 Parlay Picks

The fun of the parlay pick is that it brings real tension when you’ve won the first game and then the second game is coming right down to the wire on the point spread. The real upside, though, comes with the bigger winnings you get from taking that added risk. Take a look at some of these Week 1 parlay picks we’ve put together for you. Home teams are in caps. Here’s a Quick Look at the NFL Week 1 Parlay Picks

Monday, September 12

Carolina (+1.5) over DENVER / DALLAS (-4) over N.Y. Giants

The Denver Broncos no longer have Peyton Manning running their offense. Instead, they’ve given the keys to Mark Sanchez. The New York Giants no longer have the red-faced Tom Coughlin whipping his players into shape up and down the sideline. Can the G-men compete at all without the iron fist — and with no real new additions to the roster? The Panthers will be burning for Super Bowl revenge, and the Cowboys will be hungry for redemption after that 4-12 dumpster fire last year.

BALTIMORE (-3) over Buffalo / ARIZONA (-1) over New England

Baltimore will have Joe Flacco back and running the offense. The M*A*S*H unit that the Ravens turned into last year has healed and will be back in full force. The Buffalo Bills have a decent defense, and Tyrod Taylor is still an exciting quarterback, but they are still mostly rhetoric rather than results when they run into solid teams — and the Ravens will be a contender in that stacked AFC North this year. The Patriots will not have Tom Brady (four-game suspension) running the offense, and Carson Palmer will be looking for some redemption after that subpar performance in the NFC title game against Carolina.

KANSAS CITY (-7) over San Diego / SEATTLE (-8.5) over Miami

Two big lines, two covers. Kansas City demolished Houston last year in Week 1, and San Diego’s offense looked just as old as Houston’s did last year. The difference: Houston had a defense last year, while the Chargers don’t put up much resistance against opposing offenses. The Seahawks come back from a disappointing loss to Carolina in the divisional round of the playoffs, and the Legion of Boom should be back in full force. Even though they will not have Marshawn Lynch, the Seahawk offense should have plenty of room against a Miami team still trying to find its identity.

Pittsburgh (+3) over WASHINGTON / Los Angeles over SAN FRANCISCO (-2)

Kirk Cousins showed that he can lead the Redskins to a mediocre record last year, which counts as progress in DC, and so he got the big money. But Big Ben and the Pittsburgh Steelers are coming to town, and Ben’s shoulder is healed up from that playoff injury. I’m trying to figure out why the oddsmakers have the Niners and the Rams even here. I think that Nick Foles can outduel whoever Chip Kelly puts out there at quarterback, whether it’s shell-shocked Colin Kaepernick or the guy who replaced him last year, the pedestrian Blaine Gabbert.
