NFL Week 16 COVID-19 Betting Update

NFL Week 16 COVID-19 Betting Update

Written by on December 24, 2021

As COVID-19 makes its way through the NFL, keeping many key players off the field, one team that has largely avoided problems is the Cincinnati Bengals, who only had one player on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Quarterback Joe Burrow had a somewhat humorous explanation, even though Cincinnati fans may not like it. In an interview with ESPN, the second-year quarterback said, “Fortunately, there’s not a ton to do in Cincinnati. Nobody is going out to clubs and bars and getting COVID every weekend.” In Week 15, three games were postponed to Monday and Tuesday, and some teams had to bring in quarterbacks at the last minute. Cleveland had to start Nick Mullens, and Washington had to pluck Garrett Gilbert off the New England practice roster just four days before their game against Philadelphia.

NFL News: Week 16 COVID-19 Betting Update

Arizona Cardinals

Two players are on the list, and the most important might be punter Andy Lee. The Cardinals would have to go to the free agency well to find someone at this point of the season.

Baltimore Ravens

A dozen Ravens are on the list, headlined by wide receiver Sammy Watkins. However, four linebackers and three defensive backs are on the list, which is not good news for a team that also has injuries in the secondary.

Buffalo Bills

The Bills have five on the list, the most crucial of whom is slot receiver Cole Beasley, who is blaming the NFL’s rules rather than his own infection.

Carolina Panthers

Six Panthers are on the list, but none of the key skill positions are affected.

Chicago Bears

The Bears have nine players on the list, headlined by defensive tackle Akiem Hicks and wide receiver Allen Robinson II.

Cleveland Browns

Sixteen Browns are on the list, including the top two quarterbacks, tailback Kareem Hunt, defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and wide receiver Jarvis Landry. Safety John Johnson III is also on the list ahead of the Browns’ Christmas Day game.

Detroit Lions

Only three Lions are on the COVID-19 ist, but one of them is starting quarterback Jared Goff.

Green Bay Packers

The only Packer on the list is wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who has given Aaron Rodgers another option in the passing game all season long.

Houston Texans

There are 22 Texanson the ist, including kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn and wide receiver Brandin Cooks.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs face Pittsburgh potentially without Tyreek Hill, Travis Kelce or kicker Harrison Butker.

Los Angeles Chargers

Of the 11 Chargers on the list, the most important are defensive end Joey Bosa and running back Austin Ekeler.

Minnesota Vikings

Dalvin Cook is the only Viking on the list, but as he is following the unvaccinated players’ protocol now, he could miss the rest of the regular season.

New Orleans Saints

Quarterbacks Taysom Hill and Trevor Siemian are on the COVID-19 list, so with Jameis Winston already done for the season, the Saints are bringing in rookie Ian Book from Notre Dame to start. Safety Malcolm Jenkins is also on the list.
