NFL Week 16 Odds, Overview & Picks for Each Game

Written by on December 22, 2021

For the first time in the 2021 regular season, COVID-19 outbreaks on rosters forced the postponement of games. Cleveland’s date with Las Vegas was moved from Saturday to Monday, and the Washington-Philadelphia and Seahawks-Rams games were moved from Sunday to Tuesday. That made for some scheduling chaos, as the Raiders arrived in Cleveland not knowing that the game had been pushed back two days, and it also made for short weeks ahead of Week 16, as the Browns played on Monday and then turn around and head to Green Bay for a Saturday game. What can we expect to see this weekend?

We have NFL betting picks for every showdown.

NFL News: Week 16 Odds, Overview & Picks for Each Game

San Francisco 49ers (-3.5) at Tennessee Titans

Thursday, December 23 | 8:20 pm ET, FOX / NFL Network)
Tennessee has dropped three of four, while the 49ers have climbed out of the NFC’s basement and are pushing hard for a wild card. However, they travel east on a short week, and Tennessee has the defense to keep the 49ers in check.

Cleveland Browns (+7.5) at Green Bay Packers

Saturday, December 25 | 4:30 pm ET, FOX / NFL Network
Green Bay is 6-0 both straight up and against the spread this season. Cleveland lost a heartbreaker against Las Vegas despite having to use Nick Mullens at quarterback, with both Baker Mayfield and Case Keenum in COVID-19 protocols. Mayfield should return, and the Browns’ D-line will feast on an injury-ravaged O-line. The Green Bay defense has been shredded in each of the last four weeks, so the Browns could take this win.

Browns to cover : Bet the Game Today

Indianapolis Colts (+2) at Arizona Cardinals

Saturday, December 25 | 4:30 pm ET, FOX / NFL Network
The Cardinals finally lost a road game…and it was a rout at Detroit, of all places. Now they return home, where they have committed three times as many turnovers and have suffered their other three losses. Jonathan Taylor will run all over the Cardinals.

Indy to cover : Bet the Game Today

Baltimore Ravens (+2.5) at Cincinnati Bengals

Sunday, December 26 | 1:00 pm ET CBS
Cincinnati routed the Ravens on the road in their first meeting, and the Bengals are on the brink of sweeping both Baltimore and Pittsburgh. Lamar Jackson (ankle) remains questionable, but Tyler Huntley has done a solid job leading the Ravens’ offense in his absence. Joe Burrow should be able to torch the Ravens’ secondary enough to get the win.

Bengals to win and cover : Bet the Game Today

Buffalo Bills (+2) at New England Patriots

Sunday, December 26 | 1:00 pm ET
The Pats just got clouted by the Colts, while the Bills picked up an impressive win. The wind at Foxboro won’t make this a run-only game, and Josh Allen should be able to lead the Bills to a win.

Bills to cover : Bet the Game Today

L.A. Chargers (-10.5) at Houston Texans

Sunday, December 26 | 1:00 pm ET CBS
The Chargers should be looking for redemption after watching a win slip away in Kansas City. Expect the visitors to pound the ball with Justin Jackson and Austin Ekeler – and expect them to make fewer red zone mistakes.

Chargers to win and cover : Bet the Game Today

Detroit Lions (+4.5) at Atlanta Falcons

Sunday, December 26 | 1:00 pm ET FOX
Detroit is 4-3 against the spread in road games this season, and somehow they just beat Arizona by 18. The Falcons can’t run the ball, which means teams are teeing off on Matt Ryan.

Lions to cover : Bet the Game Today

L.A. Rams (-3) at Minnesota Vikings

Sunday, December 26 | 1:00 pm ET FOX
Minnesota will have some success throwing the ball against the Rams, who rank just 23rd in pass defense. However, the Rams should get another big day out of Matthew Stafford, who went 8-13-1 against the Vikings with the Lions, but now he has a much more talented roster. That pass rush should get after Kirk Cousins and force some turnovers as well.

Rams to win and cover : Bet the Game Today

Jacksonville Jaguars (+2.5) at N.Y. Jets

Sunday, December 26 | 1:00 pm ET  CBS
Jacksonville plays its second game under interim head coach Darrell Bevell, while the Jets are still expending maximum effort for Robert Saleh. Which team can get more of a pass rush? I’m going with the value.

Jaguars to cover : Bet the Game Today

N.Y. Giants (+10) at Philadelphia Eagles

Sunday, December 26 | 1:00 pm ET FOX
Philadelphia has to turn around after playing on Tuesday but looks to rebound from a six-point loss to the Giants up in New Jersey earlier this season. Jalen Hurts looked terrific in returning from an ankle injury in a big win over Washington, while the Giants will either have Mike Glennon or Jake Fromm running the offense.

Eagles to win and cover : Bet the Game Today

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-11) at Carolina Panthers

Sunday, December 26 | 1:00 pm ET FOX
Tom Brady lost Mike Evans and Chris Godwin in injuries that came in last week’s weird 9-0 loss to New Orleans, and the Bucs had to sign LeVeon Bell after seeing Leonard Fournette go down with a hamstring injury. The Panthers have lost four straight and have not broken the 21-point barrier in any of them. However, this is a big spread given the playmakers who will be out for the Bucs.

Carolina to win and cover : Bet the Game Today

Chicago Bears (+7) at Seattle Seahawks

Sunday, December 26 | 4:05 pm ET FOX
Both of these teams are playing out the string with their postseason hopes likey quashed. Justin Fields takes too many sacks for the Bears, but Russell Wilson isn’t hitting his top playmakers enough.

Bears to win and cover : Bet the Game Today

Pittsburgh Steelers (+10) at Kansas City Chiefs

Sunday, December 26 | 4:25 pm ET CBS
The Steelers permit 143.9 running yards per game, and the Chiefs have both Darrell Williams and Clyde Edwards-Helaire to pound the ball. However, the Chiefs also have a solid passing game, and their defense is good enough to squelch Big Ben.

Chiefs to win and cover : Bet the Game Today

Denver Broncos (+1.5) at Las Vegas Raiders

Sunday, December 26 | 4:25 pm ET CBS
Teddy Bridgewater (concussion) is questionable for this game, which means that the Drew Lock Show could continue. Denver is 3-3 straight up on the road this year, and they get the Raiders coming off a short week after they played Monday. Check Bridgewater’s status before locking in your wager.

Raiders to win and cover : Bet the Game Today

Washington Football Team (+10) at Dallas Cowboys

Sunday, December 26 | 8:20 pm ET  NBC
Garrett Gilbert came off the New England practice squad to start for Washington against Philadelphia this past week, and some fairly solid play (given the circumstances) went for nought as the Football Team simply refused to stop the run. Washington has to turn around on a short week and face the Dallas team that rolled them at home three weeks before. The Cowboys have permitted just 14.7 points per contest over the last three weeks but are still waiting for Dak Prescott to get back to where he was before his calf injury.

Washington to cover : Bet the Game Today

Miami Dolphins (+3) at New Orleans Saints

Monday, December 27 | 8:15 pm ET, ESPN
New Orleans has won two in a row and has clambered back into the NFC playoff competition. However, they are just 1-4 in games at Caesars Superdome, and Miami has the sort of defense that can shut down the run-first approach that Taysom Hill brings to the Saints offense. Even so, you’d think that Sean Payton can come up with a way to shut down Tua Tagovailoa.
