NFL Week 17 Betting Advice in the 2021 Season

NFL Week 17 Betting Advice in the 2021 Season

Written by on December 28, 2021

As we head to Week 17 in the 2021 NFL regular season, there are some intriguing matchups, such as Kansas City’s visit to Cincinnati and Arizona’s trip to Dallas. The Chiefs and the Cowboys are both working on taking the top seed in their respective conferences, although the Cowboys would have to win out and hope that Green Bay falls in one of their next two games. Green Bay hosts Minnesota on Sunday night this week. Las Vegas needs to beat the Colts on the road to have a shot at the postseason, while Lamar Jackson returns to the lineup to face the Rams, as the Ravens face a must-win scenario. Cleveland and Pittsburgh square off on Monday night, with the loser out of the playoffs.

We have put together some NFL betting advice for you as you consider this week’s pro football picks.

NFL News: Week 17 Betting Advice

Philadelphia Eagles (-4) at Washington Football Team

Sunday, January 2 | 1:00 pm ET, FOX
Washington just took a 42-point humiliation at Dallas, while Philadelphia hung 34 on the Giants last week. Philadelphia beat Washington at home by six on December 21. Will Washington rebound and play the spoiler at home, or will they roll over after getting thrashed in all three phases of the game last week? The Eagles have revealed a surprisingly impressive running game, and that should drive the rhythm in this game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-13.5) at N.Y. Jets

Sunday, January 2 | 1:00 pm ET, FOX
Yes, Zach Wilson guided the J-E-T-S to a big win last week but here come the defending Super Bowl champions, who look to be peaking at the right time. Antonio Brown returned for the Bucs last week, and along with Rob Gronkowski, the Tampa Bay passing game should gash the Jets all day long. Ronald Jones II should enjoy taking on a Jet rush defense that permits 141.3 yards per game. This game should be over quickly.

Miami Dolphins (+3.5) at Tennessee

Sunday, January 2 | 1:00 pm ET, CBS
Miami has both a seven-game losing streak and a seven-game winning streak this season, having started with a win, lost seven straight and then won seven straight to sit at 8-7. They visit a Tennessee team that is 6-2 at home – with one of those home losses coming against Houston, of all teams. The Titans’ defense could struggle to contain Miami’s attack, but they did shut down a burgeoning San Francisco offense last Thursday.

Kansas City Chiefs (-4.5) at Cincinnati Bengals

Sunday, January 2 | 1:00 pm ET, CBS
The Bengals could take the AFC North if they can win this game. The Chiefs have won eight in a row straight up and have covered in six in a row. Cincinnati is just 4-4 straight up at Paul Brown Stadium this season. I see this turning into a track meet, and I’m going to take Cincinnati to pick up the somewhat surprising win – although I would not pick this way if this were a playoff matchup.

N.Y. Giants (+6) at Chicago Bears

Sunday, January 2 | 1:00 pm ET, CBS
The Bears picked up the shocking win at Seattle as Nick Foles came out of hibernation to lead Chicago to the comeback win. The Giants have scored no more than ten points in four of their last six games. Will Foles get another start, or will Matt Nagy spin the quarterback wheel again?

Houston Texans (+15) at San Francisco 49ers

Sunday, January 2 | 4:05 pm ET, CBS
Houston just beat the Chargers this week, while the 49ers went down to Tennessee last Thursday. The 49ers could get Eli Mitchell back from a knee injury. Expect this game to have a slow, ground game pace – which means that the spread is too big.
